    Breezekit ~ WindClan Kit

Dark blue eyes narrowed in towards the wide pupils as the four moon old kit was eyeing the crazy mass of dark fur that belonged to his Littermate. Goldenrose and Heatherkit were still within the secure den of the nursery since his sister had caught a small cold from the chilly weather, while he was full of energy. Small and dark grey furred paws were gently stepping down into the dusty ground, ears standing upright as he stayed to the shadows of the outer rim of the nursery. There was no way that Wildkit was getting away from him again. Smiling silently to himself, he pressed his side up against the dark brown wall of the den, holding his breath as Wildkit looked around, as if his brother could almost sense that something wasn’t exactly right. Wildkit was barely an inch taller than he was, but the two were equal in mass with their heavy set bones, indicating that both toms would be broad and heavily muscled once full grown.

Wildkit finally turned his attention back towards the bug he was messing with just barely outside of the den, clearly still within the watchful eye of their mother. Grinning with glee, he lowered his tall frame to the ground and gave two playful wiggles of his hips, while lifting his left forepaw off of the ground, just like he had watched the apprentices of the clan do plenty of times. Although, he was much sloppier than the trained apprentices, running forwards his dark stormy grey striped pelt came into focus as he barreled into the dark furred flank of Wildkit. Both kits went flailing in the dirt, while small giggles were erupting from Breezekit’s dark parted lips, his chest rising and falling quickly. “You should see your face!” He exclaimed to his Littermate, continuing to laugh. Now in the pale light of the evening sun, it was clear to see that his pelt wasn’t completely dark grey, every toe on both of his fore paws were dipped white, while small speckles of white decorated from his toes up to his knees with each leg. A small patch of white was planted on his chest fur, but would more than likely grow as he aged. Eyes shimmering with mischief as he slowly pushed himself up from the ground and shook out his pelt.

Several WindClan warriors were pawing the snow that patched the ground in the WindClan camp, brushing it away to the outer edges. A little black kit was watching them from outside the nursery walls, his bright green eyes gleaming with curiosity. He lifted up a small paw and dabbed it into the clump of snow next to him, letting out a squeal of alarm at how cold it was. Why is it so cold? The warriors were doing a good job trying to keep most of the snow out of the middle of the clearing so their paws wouldn’t freeze while eating prey, but Wildkit was fascinated at the white fluff. Where did it come from? How was it made? And why did it have to fall out of the sky? He no longer watched the warriors do their work, and instead focused on the snow pile beside him. Whiskers twitching, he watched a beetle scurry out of it, crawling directly in front of him. It’s black, like me! Why wasn’t I called Beetlekit? Wildkit lowered his nose and sniffed the bug, but could find no scent emanating from its tiny body.

The sound of crunching pawsteps behind him made Wildkit’s head lift up, green eyes searching around him. However, there was nobody in sight, and he turned his attention back to the interesting bug. Suddenly, something slammed into Wildkit and he let out a squeal of surprise. “Goldenrose!” He called out, his paws flailing in the air along with someone else’s. As soon as he got the chance, the black-furred kit crawled away from his attacker before turning around to face them. “Breezekit!” he snapped, eyes narrowing with annoyance. Although, it didn’t take long for him to join in the laughing with his stormy-gray brother. “You’re going to regret that!” Wildkit bunched up his muscles and wiggled his butt, tail lashing as he prepared to attack back. When he pounced in the air, his hind legs slipped on the slippery snow underpaw, making him fall to the ground in front of him, inches away from Breezekit’s face. His ears warmed with embarrassment.

    Breezekit ~ WindClan Kit

He was more than amused when Wildkit called out for their mother, clearly he hadn’t been expecting for his brother to tackle him. Small bursts of laughter escaped his lips as he noticed the expression that his brother held, his little grey nose scrunching up as he made a face at his brother. “Mom, isn’t gonna do anything.” He grinned, his hips wiggling playfully as he watched Wildkit try to get up without getting flustered. “Yes, it is I.” He snickered as his brother exclaimed his name, chin tilting for a moment as he licked his lips, his little toes digging into the wet and cold ground beneath his while the adults worked hard to keep the clearing clean of snow, the kits got to play. Ears laid back against his head as Wildkit lowered himself into an attack position, causing him to grin wildly as his brother was now going to entertain him. Although when Wildkit jumped at him, his immediate reaction was to step back, his small foot sinking into a small patch of snow. “Cold!” He gasped, jumping upright in surprise as his fur stood on end while Wildkit landed on his face.

“Oh the mighty Wildkit has fallen!” He laughed, stepping out of the snow mound and leaning down towards his brother, pressing his forehead into the back of Wildkits shoulder blade, pushing him down against the ground. “Who is the better fighter? Say it.” He chimed, until a soft and get sharp voice suddenly reached his small ears, dark blue eyes flickering towards the towering figure of a tall and slender white and rose gold patched feline exit the nursery. “Breezekit, let go of your brother.” She snapped, although her green eyes were soft. Breezekit groaned before stepping off of his brother, throwing Wildkit a look before Goldenrose leaned down to pick up the fluffy black kit by the scruff, placing him tenderly back on his paws while licking his crazy pelt the rough way to clean the damp earth and residue of snow off his pelt. “Careful you two, I don’t want you getting sick like Heatherkit.” The she-cat warned, her muzzle gently bumping Wildkits rear end as she confirmed his grooming was done while her bright green eyes landed on Breezekit and Wildkit. “We’ll be good.” Breezekit smiled, walking to stand beside his brother, smiling innocently up at their mother while she watched them with narrowed eyes. She blamed Wolfstar’s side of the bloodline for troublesome darlings.

Wildkit never noticed Breezekit was also a victim to the snow, too focused on his embarrassment at letting himself slip. He pressed his forepaws to the ground to try and get back up, but his brother pushed him back down, forcing all the air in his lungs to escape. “Oof! Get off me, you fat mouse-brain!” he meowed, struggling underneath Breezekit’s weight. They were almost the exact same size, but Wildkit was still young and weak. At the sound of their mother’s voice, Wildkit’s tail waved with relief, grateful to finally have Breezekit get off him. The black-furred kit smiled at his beautiful mother as she grabbed him by his scruff and placed him upright, before shaking out his fur to clear the snow away. He shot Breezekit an annoyed glare before looking innocently at Goldenrose. “I won’t get sick. I’m a warrior, and warrior’s don’t get sick!” He puffed out his chest, the black fur fluffing out.

Unlike his brother, Wildkit’s fur only had one tone. From the tips of ears to the end of his tail, he was covered with a black coat except for one small patch of silver underneath his chin. It wasn’t noticeable unless he lifted his head and showed it, but he overheard Wolfstar telling Goldenrose he had a feeling he would acquire more silver hairs as he got older. Wildkit hoped so, imagining his pelt looking like the night sky with several stars shining sporadically on his body. He believed his fur color to be particularly boring right now when he stood next to his brother, but he didn’t dare say that out loud in front of his mother. He knew she loved his coat color. Forgetting about his anger towards Breezekit, Wildkit pressed against his brother’s side and smiled at Goldenrose with the same innocent expression. “Yes, we promise! Now can we please run around and play? It’s so boring in the nursery.” His eyebrows furrowed upwards above his sparkling green eyes as he begged, hoping she would cave at the sight of his adorable face.

    Breezekit ~ WindClan Kit

Goldenrose looked down upon her two kits, pupils narrowing into slim slits as she analyzed the innocent expressions that her two sons were giving her, trying to steel her resolve but her heart just melted. The two tomcats looked too much like their father, and he was clearly her weakness. “Oh, alright. As long as you don’t go past the apprentices den. You two are still really small and I don’t want any eagles or falcons to carry you off.” She warned with a nervousness to her voice, eyes flickering back and forth between her two kits as she lowered her head and gently rasped her tongue over each of their foreheads, getting a small squeal of protest from Breezekit in the process. “I will be right here by the nursery.” She warned her two kittens, still too antsy to leave her daughter alone for too long because of her cold. Breezekit smiled instantly, even though their mother would be watching them carefully, they wouldn’t be restricted to the walls of the nursery. “Thank you, mom!” He grinned widely, gently bumping his shoulder blade against Wildkit’s before he started to walk in the opposite direction of the nursery.

Goldenrose laid down near the entrance of the nursery, her ever watchful gaze watching her young kittens before she looked over her shoulder towards her nest to see her only she-kit napping. Breezekit was practically prancing, his tail held high as his dark blue eyes landed on the dark fur face of his brother. “What do you want to play?” He asked his brother, ears twitching as his dark eyes landed on a large warrior that was clearing out the snow, the dark brown tabby fur and the white stomach clearly marked him out to be EveningStorm. Which he vaguely knew, causing him to look towards Wildkit with a rather amused expression, eyes glittering with mischief. “You thinking what I’m thinking?” He asked quietly, looking towards Eveningstorm’s large legs.

Yes, thank you!” Wildkit’s eyes glittered with happiness when their mother allowed them to stay outside. The nursery was boring, and it was cramped despite them being the only litter in WindClan at the moment. He gave Breezekit a shrug at his question, glancing around the camp as well to figure out what to play next. He noticed the moss ball they played with the day before still outside the medicine den, and was about to go grab it when Breezekit meowed to him. The look on his brother’s face was mischievous, and Wildkit quickly joined in when he glanced at Eveningstorm. His green eyes glittered playfully, and he flicked his tail, motioning for Breezekit to follow him quietly.

Wildkit swiftly headed towards a small pile of snow not too far behind the warrior, his body lowered to the ground and tail sticking straight out behind him. Once he was ducked behind the snow, he brought his face closer to Breezekit’s to whisper. “Last time I checked, foxes aren’t allowed in WindClan camp. We should drive it out and become the Clan’s heroes!” Wildkit’s ears flattened against his head when his started to raise, hoping Eveningstorm didn’t hear. He checked, quickly lifting his head then ducking back down, satisfied Eveningstorm didn’t seem disturbed. “Let’s go for it’s tail on the count of three. One…” Wildkit lowered his body to the ground to get ready for jumping. “Two…” His lower haunches wiggled. “…Three!” Wildkit jumped over the pile and landed on Eveningstorm’s tail, pinning it down to the ground.

    Breezekit ~ WindClan Kit

He grinned as his dark blue eyes traveled after his brother as the black furred tomcat slunk towards a small pile of snow that the warriors had made while clearing the camp grounds. Pupils narrowing as he hurried after his brother, trying to stay quiet but they were kits and surely they were making noise with running against the cold and mushy ground, little toes squelching against the mud created by the snow. He snickered was he pressed his pelt up against Wildkit, smoky grey fur mingling with dark black fur, the top of his head and pointed ears standing upright as he peered over the edge of the snow pile, curiously watching the large tomcat as if trying to see if the warrior knew they were there. Which somehow, he didn’t. Ear twitching as Wildkit moved in closer, his voice hushed while his green eyes reflected his own mischief, grinning back at his brother as he found amusement with seeing Eveningstorm as a fox intruder and the creatures tail had to be dealt with.

“For the tail.” He nodded, his voice hushed while grinning, shifting in his place as he moved closer to Wildkit, his brother would lead the attack. Smirking as he looked over the edge of the snow pile, eyeing the ‘fox’ as the creature was too busy at pawing at the snow to even really notice that there were two ‘hero’s’ stalking him. As Wildkit counted down for their attack, he lowered his body into a crouch, hips wiggling with excitement jumping with Wildkit as his brother exclaimed. “Ahhhhh!” Breezekit yelled out his battle cry, rushing towards the tail that Wildkit had already pinned, jumping at the base of the tail as his little claws hooked into the long fur of the warriors tail, lowering his head as he bit at the tail and shook his head. Eveningstorm was more than surprised when his tail was both pinned and heavily attacked, the fur along his spine standing straight up while his ears lowered against his head and his eyes grew wide while quickly looking behind him. Dark amber eyes landed on the Clans newest members, the troublemakers. “Oh… I’ve been wounded.” He gasped, his heart beating quickly from the surprise of the attack, but he was also amused and decided to play into the kits little game. “The great little warriors are going to tear off my tail.. please.. please spare me the horror.” Eveningstorm pretended to weep, his voice hitching with fake sobs as he looked towards Wildkit and Breezekit with narrowed eyes. Breezekit hesitates in his attack, while taking on a thoughtful expression before smiling. “Only if you get us a mouse!” He exclaimed, although the kits were still too young to fully eat solid meat.

Wildkit looked excitedly up at Eveningstorm when he jumped with surprise at their attack, and the black tomkit felt immediately proud of himself. He and Breezekit had just successfully surprised a warrior! We’re going to be the best warriors in WindClan! He thoughtfully hoped Heatherkit could have joined in on the fun, knowing she probably felt a little left out cooped up inside the warm nursery by herself. Their sister was quieter than her two brother’s, and she would have probably found a more creative way to sneak up on Eveningstorm without him noticing. At the large tom’s cries, Wildkit puffed out his chest and gave Breezekit a triumphant look. “We caught the fox! He never had a chance!” Nodding his head in agreement with Breezekit’s demand, Wildkit poked Eveningstorm’s hind paw. “And you better grab us a fat mouse too!

Wolfstar heard the kits’ ruckus from outside of the camp entrance, and he glanced knowingly at the patrol he lead. Willowfur followed her father, whiskers twitching with amusement as she held a rabbit between her jaws. When Wolfstar pushed his way inside the camp entrance, he looked around until he spotted his two sons messing with Eveningstorm. The “mighty” warrior was now cowering like a scared mouse, begging for his safety. The WindClan leader couldn’t help but laugh, dropping his own kill at the fresh-kill pile before making his way to Breezekit and Wildkit. He looked at Wildkit questioningly when the black-furred kit called Eveningstorm a fox. “Well, he’s the ugliest looking fox I believe I’ve ever seen,” he teased, gleaming at the warrior who would be fathering his own grandkits very soon. It was refreshing to see him play so well with his kits, glad to know he would be a good father.

Wildkit stared up at Wolfstar as he entered, his face brightening even more. “Yeah, he’s an ugly fox! That’s why we wanted to scare him away!” Wildkit looked at Breezekit with pride.

He grinned while glancing towards his brother, the tip of his tail twitching as he still cling to Eveningstorm’s tail, his little claws not nearly long enough to dig into the skin. “Yeah! A fat mouse!” He agreed with Wildkit, eyes glittering with excitement at the prospect of trying a mouse, even though their teeth weren’t strong enough to take on solid meat. Eveningstorm knew this, but he didn’t argue with the young kits as he didn’t want to upset them and Goldenrose would get a tasty treat later on once he managed to find a mouse. “Of course, all mighty hero’s. Only the best for the clan defenders.” Eveningstorm wailed softly, still pawing at the snow as he pushed the pile towards the lining of the camp before he looked back towards the kits, who were just beaming that they would be getting a mouse.

Breezekit hadn’t even heard the patrol return, his attention was fully zoned in on Eveningstorm, smiling instantly when the warrior agreed that he would get them a fat mouse. “You just might be the most useful Fox ever!” He grinned, although when a familiar deep voice reached his ears, his chin dipped upward as he looked at his father walking towards them, even though the world was upside down from the angle. Smiling instantly, he sheathed his claws in order to slip down the tail, gently bumping into Wildkit near the end of the tail. “Definitely an ugly fox!” Breezekit agreed with his brother, shifting to where he sat down but placed his paw on Wildkits shoulder blade while looking up at his look a like father. “Wildkit led the attack but it was my idea.” He grinned, before his little ears stood straight up as he noticed a tall and slender feline moving their way, smiling at his mother as she moved towards the commotion. “Evening, dear.” Goldenrose purred softly as she gently rubbed her side against Wolfstar’s feeling more relaxed that there were more warriors in the camp clearing.

A little wine rose from the small body of Heatherkit, which was curled snugly within her nest in the nursery. She could feel that the heat of her brothers was absent, her crystalline blue eyes slowly opening and peaking past her cream-striped tail, which laid gently atop her nose.

There was certainly something occurring outside the den though. The kit’s ears perked as the sleepiness began to ebb away, and after much rest from her cold, she slowly stumbled to her paws. Heatherkit shook her out pelt, fluffed from winter’s chill, and directed her gaze towards the den’s entrance with a soft huff, which quickly developed to a sneeze. Were they playing without her?! Even mother was outside having fun it seemed!

The somewhat sassy she-cat tipped her chin a little higher. She was the quieter of the three, but had a bite to her, and certainly liked to be included in her brother’s games. After stretching her legs, her muscles taunt from her deep slumber, she trotted outside with interest, and was surprised to find so many gathered

Her brothers, her mother, her father, and Eveningstorm as well! All playing without her! Ignoring the slight burning she felt on her ears, she placed a paw into the snow. Heatherkit found the white substance simply delightful to play in, perhaps the reason she had fallen ill. It was hard to ignore the way the snow sparkled and shimmered…

Mama!” Heatherkit announced herself by calling out to the she-cat as she leapt her way over, glancing at her brothers as she rubbed up against Goldenrose’s leg in greeting. “What are you all playing? I wanna play too! Can’t I play?” The kit questioned, dropping into a playful crouch. Slowly, she crept forward before leaping at Wolfstar’s tail, her paws batting eagerly. It seemed her energy had returned!

Wildkit brushed Breezekit off of his shoulder, nudging the gray kit’s flank with his paw when Goldenrose joined the group. Wolfstar smiled at his mate, brushing his tail along the top of her spine when she stopped at his side. “Gross!” Wildkit complained, turning back to his brother so his parents were no longer in his view. “guess it was your idea, but I lead the attack so that makes me leader. I’m going to be just like Wolfstar when I grow up! When I tell you to hunt, you have to obey!” Wildkit puffed out his chest with pride at the thought of being like their father. At the sound of Heatherkit’s voice, Wildkit’s ears twitched and he turned towards his sister, green eyes gleaming with happiness. “You’re awake! Finally. I thought you were going to sleep all day like the elders.

Wolfstar cuffed Wildkit’s ears. “Don’t be disrespectful,” he warned, although it was noticeable he wasn’t that angry. The leader lowered his head to rasp his tongue over Breezekit’s forehead before doing the same to Heatherkit. “A good leader should never demand another cat to obey. They earn other’s respect.” Wildkit giggled and nudged Heatherkit’s shoulder with his muzzle. “You would respect me if I was leader, right? I know Breezekit wouldn’t.” He gave his stormy-gray brother a playful glare. “I think he’s going to try and fight me for my leadership. Be on my team and you can be my deputy!

Wolfstar rolled his eyes and placed his chin on top of Goldenrose’s head. “I feel like they’re the rowdiest kits ever to be born. They don’t settle down, do they?” The gray-and-white tom was happy to see Heatherkit was feeling much better, no longer wanting to just curl up into a ball and sleep.

Willowfur stood several tail-lengths away from the happy family, her head tilting as she studied them. She knew it would be alright to intrude on their little games considering Eveningstorm was with them, and he was her supposed mate. But she suddenly felt disconnected from them all, content with sitting back and letting the sun warm her coat. Despite the snow on the ground, the sun still shined brightly.

    Breezekit and Goldenrose ~ WindClan

Breezekit snickered at his brother when the black tomcat brushed his paws off of his shoulder, slightly loosing his balance for a moment before looking up towards his mother as she greeted their father, ever since he could remember his parents were in love. His little nose scrunched up with disgust as his father outwardly expressed his affection towards their mother, finding the affection to be gross as he silently agreed with his brother. “Yuck.” He complained with a small whine, his dark blue eyes flickering towards Wildkit’s face as the tomkit explained that he would be leader just like their father, and he would order Breezekit around! He smirked and arched a small eyebrow while glaring at his brother, he hadn’t even noticed that Heatherkit came prancing from the nursery. “Oh yeah! Well I bet that I won’t do anything you say!” Breezekit snorted, jumping at his brother as he gently bumped his shoulder blade against Wildkit’s, both kits loosing their balance before his eyes brightened at the sight of their sister. “Look who finally decided to wake up.” Breezekit chimed, walking over to their sister as he gently bumped his shoulder against hers, finally their little group was complete.

Goldenrose purred at Wolfstar, leaning her slender figure into the large tomcat with ease as his long tail rested along her spine. “Gross, indeed.” Goldenrose mused as she looked down at Wildkit, only when her son turned his cheek did she gently rasp her tongue over Wolfstar’s cheek, smiling softly before her ears stood up as a rather demanding little meow, looking down as she watched the small white and golden dusted she-kit rub against her leg. “Heatherkit.. I’m so glad to see you awake.” She purred, lowering her head to give her wee she-kit a lick on top of her head as she looked into the wee kits eyes. “Are you feeling better?” She asked her daughter, nuzzling the small kitten before her attention moved back towards Wolfstar as he cuffed Wildkit for disrespecting the fact that elders slept too long, but honestly she had to work hard to stifle her smile. “Your fathers right, a good leader earns the respect of his clanmates.” She agreed with Wolfstar, straightening out her posture as she returned to leaning against her mate while looking down at her kits as they spoke.

Breezekit rolled his eyes while looking at Wildkit as he asked Heatherkit if she would respect him, causing him to grin when Wildkit tried to plead Heatherkit in joining his team for deputyship. “Yeah. But we all know who is the better fighter. If she joins your team. She will loose.” He smiled, his little teeth showing as he puffed out his chest, little tail lashing out behind him as he walked slowly towards Heatherkit and Wildkit, a mischievous gleam in his eyes. He was unaware that Goldenrose was keeping a close eye on them, even though her mate had gently place his chin on top of her head, gaining a small purr from the she-cat. “I blame your side of the bloodline for their rowdiness.” She teased softly, her tail gently laying across his back as she watched Wildkit bicker with Breezekit, those two would be the death of her. “They’ll settle once they finally eat, full tummies make kittens sleepy.” She whispered softly to her mate, smiling softly as she looked up at him. “Heatherkit can play for a little bit but after that, you all will be getting a bath.” Goldenrose explained, getting a groan of displeasure from Breezekit.

Heatherkit tolerated the lick from her father, feeling her fur flatten down and the wind’s chill over it, but by the second lick given from her mother she huffed and gave her head a shake as if to fling off the wet. At Wildkit’s analogy to her sleeping as an elder would, she scoffed and puffed her chest out, shaking her head in disagreement. “Obviously I’m much too clean to be an elder!” The kit retorted innocently. She hadn’t meant it as an insult, it was just something she had noticed from being around some of the older cats, that their scents weren’t as appealing since they didn’t get into the woods as much. She adored when her clanmates would return from patrols, smelling like all sorts of curious things…

As Breezekit bumped into her, she purred, pleased her siblings had missed her, and gave them each a nudge back. Now what was Wildkit yelling about? Him, the next leader? She tilted her head, not sure what to think of this as she looked her brother over, and then Breezekit who denied that he would ever do as the other said. She huffed at this and shook her head, wondering why they couldn’t see she was the obvious choice to lead the clan…but her father thought there was more to it.

Heatherkit raised her chin to listen to what Wolfstar had to declare about not forcing others to obey, and she chose to hold back the speech she had been about to plaster her brothers with about how she was the clear choice to give orders, for she believed she had an iron paw behind her sweet demeanor. Instead, she gave her mother a pleasant smile and nodded. “Uh-huh! I feel all better, and I don’t want any more yucky plants!” The she-kit declared, recalling the odd stuff the medicine cats had pushed her way.

It seemed Breezekit wasn’t ready to relinquish the idea of leading the clan. Now trying to oppose Wildkit’s  proposition for her to be deputy by stating he’d lose a fight, she sprung back on all fours, her tail straight in the air. Her blue eyes narrowing playfully as they flicked back and forth between Wildkit and Breezekit, Heatherkit lowered back into a crouch, her tail beginning to swish as she took a step back from her advancing brother. “I fight on my own side!” The kit announced with a musical giggle. “I’ll win for sure, come and get me!”
