Hollowflame ~ ShadowClan Warrior
Saplingskies was gently draped over the back of his spine, he hadn’t wanted to drag his son home for the simple fact was his many puncture wounds. He didn’t want them to get dirty or even torn. Grunting under the weight of the small Tom, he adjusted his footing as he walked through the forest. “You need to lay off the squirrels.” HollowFlame teased, his son wasn’t necessarily heavy, but it was a bit awkward with carrying him in such a fashion. “We are almost back to camp.” He added, not bothering to look over his shoulder as he walked slowly and carefully, making sure his shoulder blades didn’t flex too roughly, he didn’t want SaplingSkies to be too uncomfortable. Nostrils flared as he breathed in the scent of the new camp, having to mentally remind himself to forget the trail for the older camp that could no longer be used.
“Now… when we get back to camp. You listen to what Hareflight tells you, she learned from the very best and if she tells you to rest. Then you rest.” HollowFlame growled softly, letting his chin tilt for a moment as he continued to walk, pupils narrowing as he could faintly hear the other felines of the clan. Clearing his throat, he looked over his shoulder blade for deep green eyes to look into vibrant blue eyes of SaplingSkies. “I mean it, SaplingSkies. I will set loose Briarfeather all over your rear end.” He warned before he started to walk ahead, clearing his throat as he yelled out. “Hareflight! Someone get Hareflight to the medicine den!” He called out as he walked forth into the camp, looking around as cats quickly moved out of the way as he walked.January 8, 2020 at 6:28 pm #4647SoliloquySilverParticipant
Saplingskies growled softly as Hollowflame commented on his diet. “You need to lay off the sarcasm,” he grumbled, a bit of his mother’s attitude poking through his usually cheerful and relaxed demeanor. His tail flicked in acknowledgement of his father’s words. He rolled his eyes as the older tom lectured him about listening to Hareflight, as if he had forgotten that he was the full medicine cat. “We’ll see how I feel after I get patched up and take a nap,” he mewed, blinking as they crossed the threshold into the new camp. Saplingskies was more than ready to curl up in his nest and sleep, he was absolutely exhausted.
Cats were crowding around, gawking at his wounded state. Didn’t they have anything better to do? He sighed softly, nodding as passing cats asked if he was alright. Someone towards the back of the crowd darted off towards the nursery, no doubt going to tell Briarfeather and Cloudedmoon. He loved his mother dearly, but he was not excited to see her. No doubt she would start fretting over him like he was a kit again. He sighed once more, closing his eyes tiredly as he was brought into his den. “Put me in my nest,” he instructed, gesturing towards the back of the den with his tail.January 8, 2020 at 7:07 pm #4648Hareflight [Mel]Participant

Hareflight had been in the nursery, checking on the queens when someone burst in to announce that Saplingskies was wounded. It took a moment for the words to process in her mind, and the medicine cat shot an alarmed look at Briarfeather and Cloudedmoon. Without waiting to see what they would do, she shot out of the den, racing towards the medicine den, ignoring the eyes of her clanmates on her. She stopped in the doorway, eyes taking in the den until she spotted her mentor, her breath catching in her throat. She tried to wipe away the fear that was quickly spreading across her face, and she turned to Hollowflame. “Thank you for bringing him here,” she said, hardly noticing that the adrenaline coursing through her body was smothering her stammer. Hareflight slowly stepped towards Saplingskies, examining his wounds. “What happened?” She breathed out, concern filling her gaze. As she waited for an answer from one of the two toms, she turned and grabbed a piece of moss in her claws, dipping it into the pool of water in their den.
Gently, she began to wipe away some of the blood on his body, trying to get a gauge for how bad his wounds were. She said nothing more at this point, trying simply to focus on her job. Things had been awkward between herself and Saplingskies since their fight, and the harsh words that had been spoken had been ringing in her ears since. She sighed softly, her eyes flickering to his face. If she had been out with him, this might not have happened. Still, the best she could do at this point was treat him in the way he’d taught her how.January 9, 2020 at 9:29 pm #4669FearedParticipant

He grinned faintly for a moment as his son backfired his comment about laying off the sarcasm, chuckling faintly for a moment before he grumbled. “Well, good luck with that. Your fixing to be surrounded by beautiful she-cats that are gonna worry you to death.” HollowFlame spoke in a sing-song like tune, smirking as he could just picture Briarfeather, Cloudedmoon, and Hareflight crowding around SaplingSkies while he slips out to get some fresh air and peace and quiet. “Why is it that I turn away from you kits for a moment and danger strikes.” He sighed, speaking softly and quietly. It was clear he wasn’t meaning to be heard, but he found this to be troublesome. Grunting as he looked around the many cats that swarmed them to see the condition that their medicine cat was currently in, lashing his tail in silent request for the cats to let him pass in order for him to duck down and slightly waddle through the medicine cat den entrance so he didn’t knock SaplingSkies head against the roof of the den.
“Here they come.” HollowFlame teased his son as he barely caught sight of a brightly colored calico rushing towards the den as he slipped inside, walking towards the back of the den as he followed SaplingSkies scent thickly towards a soft appearing nest. He grunted loudly when Hareflight got in his way to place SaplingSkies down in a comfortable manner, waiting patiently as she got out of the way before lowering himself to the ground for the wounded tomcat to slip off his back and close to his nest. “Of course I would bring him.” He responded gruffly, annoyed with his clanmates getting in the way and cats pointing the obvious. But mostly he was greatly annoyed with the fact he almost lost another child to a raging beast, difference was this time he was in time to help. Even if it was just carrying his son. As Hareflight questioned what happened, he looked down at SaplingSkies and watched him for a moment before he spoke for the injured cat. “He had a tussle with a dog. Fought it off pretty good, if you can believe it the dog looks worse than SaplingSkies.” He snickered, using his long tail to gently flick against SaplingSkies brown tabby pelt. “He has multiple puncture bite wounds, but the torn skin on his scruff is a bit raw looking.” He implied, before he stepped back out of the younger cats way.
