Wolfstar felt like he was able to breathe again once he and Nettlenose left ShadowClan territory and into SkyClan’s. The canopy wasn’t as eerie or dark, and the shadow’s didn’t seem to creep around them. It was still midday, the sun directly above them in the sky. We’ll need to hurry if we want to make it back home by nightfall. The last thing he wanted to do was ask to stay in another Clan’s camp until they could travel the next day. Being so far from Goldenrose and his young kits this long didn’t feel right, and his paws itched to turn towards their own territory. But this matter was pressing, and he knew it had to be done.

The gray-and-white leader blended well in the SkyClan forest with the snow heavy on the ground. It crunched underneath their paws, and he had hoped it was loud enough for a SkyClan patrol to greet them at the border to take them to camp. Hornetstar had not been too pleased when Wolfstar and Nettlenose didn’t wait for a patrol, but they didn’t have the time to wait. “It doesn’t seem like a patrol will find us,” he said to Nettlenose. “We’ll just go into their camp like ShadowClan.” He grunted with annoyance and continued forward.

Once they were finally at the entrance to the SkyClan camp, he pushed forward until they were fully inside. Like the ShadowClan cats, the SkyClanners narrowed their eyes with curiosity and alertness, whispering to each other at the WindClan leader’s and medicine cat’s presence. “I would like to speak with Firestar and your medicine cat’s, please,” he called out to whomever, his ears twitching to show his urgency. Time was flying by too quickly.

    Firestar ~Skyclan Leader

The tall Maine Coon remained perched upon the tall oak within the clearing. His sharp gaze flickering over the felines below him, watching them mingle with one another to settling down to enjoy a meal. His form tense as it would seem that everything just loved to hit him at once. Not only was leafbare here, and staying for a while, but he also acquired a few extra mouths to feed. Grunting at the thought as he glances over at the medicine den off to the side, where three damsels remained until he figured out what to do with them. Firestar was starting to get the hang of being leader, but he was trying his best to contain the stress and irritation that oh so wanted to explode from within him.

His thick fur ruffling in the wind, closing his eyes briefly to enjoy the cold nipping at his fur. He wasn’t sure what was to come, but something within him told him it was not good. He just hoped that he would be able to pull his clan from whatever was coming. Huffing in irritation at hearing his name being loudly called, as well for the sudden hushed silence filling the air. ‘What now?’ He couldn’t help but think as he looks down. Arching a brow in slight surprise to see Wolfstar and he believed Nettlenose near the entrance; the older leader’s voice caring throughout the clearing, his tone wavering with urgent need.

Mentally cursing his obvious luck as the fiery ginger and sandstone tom glides down the tree he was once perched upon. Clenching his jaw at the sudden feeling of the bitter snow clinging to his large paws. Tail flicking side to side in sharp graceful movements as he makes his way forward. Eyeing his clanmates in the corner of his eye, easily observing the tenseness and nervousness radiating off of many of them. Clicking his tongue in a careless manner as he pauses in the center on the clearing. He wasn’t going to go all the way to Wolfstar; deciding to let the grey and white Windclan Leader come to him.

“Yes?” Was all he said; yet his tone held mild aggression and indifference towards seeing the large tom within his camp. Firestar wouldn’t admit, but he was impressed that Wolfstar had the gall to enter a territory without permission, whatever he had to say; better be good. Spotting a certain tuxedo tom shuffling in the corner of his eye, brought his piercing gaze upon his deputy.”It would seem that we are needed” he sighs as he gestures for Rookfall to fetch Saffrongaze and her apprentice; Speckledpaw.  “Well if speaking to Saffrongaze and myself is what you want, then so be it” he hummed before settling his gaze once more on Wolfstar and Nettlenose. “Well don’t be shy, come on in! You are already here anyways” Firestar mocked, his tufted ears twitching as he awaited the appearance of his Medicine Cats and deputy to return.

    Rookfall

Rookfall had his eyes on both of the Invaders as they made their way into SkyClan’s camp. It was the leader and his medicine cat. Tradition stated that leader coming with his medicine cat did so with a flag of peace, but the boldness in which Wolfstar arrived caused the deputy’s neck to prickle. His gaze was icy and thoughtful, but he did not keep Firestar waiting. Dutifully, the tom-cat dipped his head and slipped through the crowd. What news could Wolfstar be bringing? His paws prickled with tension. Obviously, he would not be allowed in on these talks, despite the overwhelming sense of guardianship he had for his leader. Anything could go wrong, but if Nettlenose shattered the Code by being a mere veil over treachery, ShadowClan was truly gone.

You are paranoid, he told himself. Saffrongaze will know what to make of it. Rookfall entered the medicine cat den and flicked his eyes around the shadowy room for two cats. “Saffrongaze, Speckledpaw. Wolfstar, Nettlenose, and Firestar have requested your presence.” His voice was deep and calm, like a serene pool, despite the flickering of electricity beneath his bicolored pelt. “I believe it to be urgent.” He ducked out of the den then to wait outside, so that he may walk with them to the center of camp, where the whole of SkyClan was waiting to see what would happen.

Speckledpaw had been curled up in her nest, taking a break from an intense herbal learning session, she had been so warm and content.

That was until a voice shattered her lands of dreams, which by the by, she was dreaming of rushing through a patch of lovely flowers chasing a pretty blue butterfly.

The voice yanked her from her comfortable nest, as a yawn glided pass her parted maw, she rose up and stretched out with a soft grunt. Before she turned towards the entrance of the den, taking in the words shed barely caught.

How curious, it seemed that the leader and medicine cat of Windclan requested their presence. She turned towards her mentor, whom was still partaking in a cat nap. She lightly pressed her tiny nose to Saffrongaze’s shoulder.

“Saffrongaze, we are being requested by Firestar.” She pulled away from her mentor, watching as she rouse from her slumbering.

She gave her mentor a gentle grin, flicking her tail to the entrance, before she turned and scampered out to go and see what the summonings entailed.

Wolfstar didn’t know the new SkyClan leader very well, but at least he knew he and Nettlenose weren’t going to be welcomed with hostility like with Hornetstar. He looked at the large Maine Coon in the center of the clearing and dipped his head in greeting. The best way to greet a leader in their own camp was with respect, and Wolfstar was not one to be disrespectful. “Hello, Firestar,” he said as he stepped forward to meet the leader, impressed the younger tom had Wolfstar come to him instead of joining him. He looked around the camp, noticing the SkyClan cats were chattier than ShadowClan, their whispers loud and unnerving. He twitched his ears to try and tune them out.

Wolfstar stayed standing in front of Firestar, their muzzles meeting at almost exactly the same height. For a WindClanner, Wolfstar was quite larger, standing over nearly all of his own Clanmates. Because of that, sometime’s it was daunting to stand next to a cat who was almost just as large. “Nettlenose and I have just come from ShadowClan. We are making our way to speak with all four Clan leaders about an urgent matter. I believe you will want it to be a private conversation between us and our medicine cats.” The WindClan leader hoped Firestar wouldn’t refuse. He didn’t want any of the Clans to be stirred up into a panic, and especially when he and Nettlenose were alone with them in an unfamiliar camp.

Another quiet day. It was around, midday when Saffrongaze decided to take it easy for once. Clean den, happy apprentice. She had decided to nap it out, keeping in mind her patients.

What seemed like a few minutes, a familiar voice cut into her dreams. Slowly opening her eyes as Speckledpaw inquired again, she grumbled like a grumpy apprentice in the morning. She let out a huffed sigh before getting to her paws. She gave her body one last shake before trotting out to meet her leader. What on Earth were Wolfstar and Nettlenose doing here? Mainly speaking out of an abrupt nap, she wanted this conversation to be over so she could go back to sleep. Before she knew it she was standing by Firestar’s side. She licked her paws then ran them over her eyes then faced the two Shadowclan ranks. “Well, the medicine cat den has cats within them. Perhaps in your den then, Firestar? And is it only me and Firestar you wish to speak to or can Speckledpaw and Rookfall join us?” She inquired, looking toward Wolfstar, occasionally looking at Nettlenose before looking back at their leader.

    Firestar ~Skyclan Leader

His gaze never wavering as he watches Wolfstar and Nettlenose approach him. His piercing eyes stayed on the large grey and white tom, just silently studying him. Curiosity pricking at his pelt, he hated waiting as he wanted to know or well demand why they were here in his camp. Stiffly nodding his large cranium in respect back towards them both. “Hello Wolfstar…Nettlenose” he greets in a civil manner. Firestar has nothing against the older leader, he actually holds mild respect for him, it was just the other leaders he couldn’t care much about. He could sense many curious eyes upon his form as well as his company, yet he showed no indication that their stares bothered him.

Shifting his cranium slightly as he watches Rookfall slip back out into the clearing with Speckledpaw and Saffrongaze in tow. Waiting for a moment for them before turning his attention once more to Wolfstar. His ears twitching lightly as he listens intently to the carefully put words. Of course he wasn’t daft enough to have such a conversation in the open. It took all of his inner strength not to roll his eyes and scoff at Wolfstar. Feeling the warmth of Saffrongaze radiating against his form as she stood beside him. “Hmm” he grunts out as she mentions that his den would be for the best for such a private discussion.

Firestar was already feeling annoyance seeping in as it would seem they thought he was incompetent to make the decisions. Pressing his lips tightly together to refrain himself from muttering a sarcastic reply. “Yes my den will be for the best” He cooly states. Turning around swiftly on his paws, loose flakes of snow kicking up into the dry air as he heads for his den. Looking over his shoulder as he eyes them all; “Rookfall and Speckledpaw will be joining us” he matter of factly adds before gesturing for them all to follow. Glaring at the rest of his clan that still lingered about, “I believe you all have things to do. So get to it” he huffed out as he slips past many concerned and nervous felines.

His muscles tensing and flexing under neath his thick pelt as he treks his way toward his den. Gaze locked on the large oak tree that he was perched upon moments prior. Yet, his gaze flickers downward to an opening that resides in the base, where his den resides in. Not once glancing back over his shoulder to make sure all of them were following; he ducks his head as he slips through the wooden archway. Squinting his eyes at the sudden lack of light before easily maneuvering towards the back of the enclosed den. Settling down proudly as he awaits for the rest of his ranks and guests to arrive. Firestar wanted to know what was going on and he wanted to know yesterday.

It took merely a moment for the two medicine cats to appear. Swiftly, they crossed back to where the three waited. Although Rookfall took his place on one side of the ginger leader, he made no move to accompany them to the den until Firestar responded to Saffrongaze’s question. The anxiety he felt about the situation was resolved. Curiosity replaced it as he followed Firestar’s lead into his den. Smooth, cool stone and lacy moss replaced dry grass, and the strong scent of SkyClan’s leader as well as dry sand filled his nose. It just occurred to him that he had never visited Firestar’s den before. He allowed himself a quick glance at his surroundings to sate the gnawing interest, then sat to the left of Firestar. He turned his icy green gaze to Wolfstar, then the medicine cat.

He had heard a few words. Wolfstar was making his rounds to the four Clans. Something about a warning. A warning of what? Why was he warning them? Rookfall narrowed his eyes a little but said nothing. He would have his questions answered soon enough.

Nettlenose had been very curious about how things would play out in SkyClan as soon as the started heading there. While she knew Saffrongaze quite well, the she-cat was unfamiliar with Firestar, and didn’t know what to expect from the ginger tom. Her father’s expression didn’t give her much hint, but as the two entered the clearing her round emerald eyes found it easy enough to lock onto the tom’s flaming pelt. It stood out where he stood, the color lighting as the sun stroked it.

She peeled her gaze from the tom to see Rookfall, the deputy, and then glanced at her father to see if she could decide what he was thinking. He seemed a bit relieved that there was little hostility in the other leader’s voice, which gave her some comfort. A soft sigh escaped the molly’s lips, perhaps form her own relief, or perhaps from disdain of having to speak of the omen again. It hung over her shoulders like a steadily darkening cloud.

The fluffy molly’s ears perked a bit at Saffrongaze came out of her den, followed closely by Speckledpaw. For a moment of distraction, as she gazed upon the apprentice she felt reminiscent longing to be back with Startledcrow, in her own den, scolding him for folding up herbs wrong. Such a troublesome apprentice he’d been, but so endearing…!

The medicine cat shook such thoughts off, giving a friendly little smile as Firestar drew closer, and then led them off to his den. She waited for the leaders and Rookfall to sit before she took her seat beside Wolfstar, tail curling around her cream striped paws.

Thank you for tolerating our sudden intrusion.” Nettlenose began, dipping her head as she meant this sincerely. She locked eyes with the leader, as if trying to emphasize how serious it was that they were here. “I do indeed have an omen to deliver, one that visited me and I believe to be a warning from StarClan. Death will come to the clans, of that I am certain.” She glanced to Saffrongaze, hoping her fellow healer was taking this in.

I saw birds. Dozens of them, more than could be counted, all swooping and screaming such shrill cries. Ravens, to be more specific, inky and black. Her voice would drip to a spooked and soft whisper before she strengthened her voice again. “It was so very cold. What I’m certain of is that this is something that will affect all of us. I’m not sure the full extent of it all, but I can assure that it’s nothing good.

    Firestar ~Skyclan Leader

His ember eyes glowing faintly in the dim light as he quietly watches his deputy and medicine cats filter in before Wolfstar and Nettlenose slowly trek in. Waiting for a moment for everyone to settle before his gaze lands on Nettlenose. Gesturing towards her, letting her know that he was indeed listening to what she had to say. He couldn’t help but think it to be odd that Nettlenose would receive an omen from Starclan, than again he wasn’t familiar with how sensitive Medicine cats could be when Starclan was involved.

Tensing ever so slightly as her delicate, yet firm voice fills the air. His fur rising subconsciously along his shoulders at the mention of death. He wanted to snort and sarcastically reply along the lines of never catching a break, but he smartly refrained as now didn’t seem like the time to do so. He wondered if Wolfstar and Nettlenose knew about the blood that had already been spilt in Thunderclan. Did they even know about the battle between River and Thunder had broken out? Firestar wasn’t sure if he should mention it, as it would raise questions as to where he acquired such knowledge.

”Death is always upon us. What makes this time so different?” He questions with an arched kitty brow. Glancing over at Saffrongaze, Rookfall, and Speckledpaw, wondering what they thought of about the dark omen. “Was there any sign or clue as to what was coming? Or are we stuck in the dark. Impatiently waiting for whatever is to come to strike?” He tiredly questions, seeing as no one else was asking the important question here.

Wolfstar wanted to place his tail on Nettlenose’s shoulder in comfort, but kept to himself as she explained the omen. It pained him to watch his daughter relive the memory of the vision over and over again, but she had chosen this life and the complications that came with it. His ears twitched when she finished speaking, and he turned his head to look at Firestar’s expression, wondering if he was going to get the same reaction Hornetstar had given him. He was pleased when the SkyClan leader provided more questions instead of rolling his eyes and dismissing them.

It’s true that death is always upon us, but does StarClan give you an omen or vision for every death? The last time StarClan gave me a sign for death was when we moved territories. There have been deaths since then, but no signs about them.” At Firestar’s question, Wolfstar shrugged his broad shoulders. “I’m not exactly sure. The only thing she saw is what she’s explained. The thing I’m worried about, however, is that it’s ravens of all birds. Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t a group of ravens called an “unkindness” or “murder” or something?” His eyebrows furrowed to show his worry. “Either way, StarClan sent it to her for all of the Clans to know, which is why we’re standing in front of you now.”

It annoyed even Wolfstar that he didn’t have anymore answers on what the vision was about. He despised being in the dark with unanswered questions, grasping at everything he could to put the pieces together and solve this mystery. And as far as he knew, WindClan had been the first ones warned, which made him even more nervous. Wolfstar’s blue gaze flickered from Firestar to Saffrongaze. “What do you make of this?

Saffrongaze sat with Firestar as she has given the news; an Omen. Squinting a bit, she was fully aware now… Omens were no laughing matter, no matter how cryptic or incomplete it is. She shook her head; ravens weren’t usually the one’s to represent death… but they do within Omens. Ravens are associated with wolves, the bigger predator. Being cold and uncertain within a location, seeing more Death that one can count. “Ravens are beautiful creatures. They travel with wolves to help ensure their pack’s safety. But, if you saw them in a dream, it could be bad. Especially endless ravens within a cold place because, as we know, as we die… we become cold. I think we should keep our wits about us and be cautious. If any ravens are sighted, be informed. But, it could go beyond that. We just have to take this with a grain of salt. We’ve had enough bad stuff happen these last few moons and to have another is overwhelming and could cause clan tension. But, like during the Storm, we can come together to resolve and help each other.” She said, looking between the cats before her.
