Snarlingbadger ~ ThunderClan Warrior
Today was the day. After months of practicing his speak with Blackdoe, the black furred she-cat would no longer train him with his speech because to her, he no longer needed it. Peachblossom had been so busy with the tensions between the clans and with making sure her stocks were completely full, even with the kiss of New-leaf around the corner, his feisty little peach ball was prepared. Nostrils flared as he breathed in the air as he got closer and closer to the Medicine Cat den, drinking in the sweet honey scent that always reminded him of Peachblossom, she took up a lot of time to hunt down the precious golden liquid for his always raw throat. Large paws hesitated in the dusty dirt as he felt panic claw at his chest, what if he said something stupid! Large pointed ears fell back against his big head as a flutter of unease passed through his pale yellow eyes before he slowly swallowed the lump that had grown within his throat. Move you big oaf! He chastised himself, slowly rolling his tongue over his pale, dry lips before taking a deep breath and ducking his big head down in order to walk inside of the den.
Pupils widened to adjust to the sudden disappearance of the sun, while his black and white patched fur was laying flat once more as he calmed himself once more. Pale yellow eyes slowly scanned his surroundings, although it didn’t take long for his eyes to quickly train onto the pale creamy pelt of Peachblossom. His gaze softened immediately, his heart melting just at the sight of her as she was tending to a young apprentice. Quietly he sat down and waited patiently before the apprentice finally left the den, causing him to clear his throat while his whiskers twitched with anxiety. “Hello, P-Peachblossom.” A deep and raspy voice leaked from his sore throat, a little scratchy but he was working on that. Ears standing upright as he watched her expression carefully before he gave a nervous smile. “Would you like to go on walk?” He asked before clearing his throat once more.March 18, 2020 at 8:57 pm #5475PeachParticipant
The scent of cedar wafting into her nostrils, flaring slightly as she recognized the scent before even seeing who entered her den, Honey, purring ever so softly at the thought of the black and white pelted tom. She wanted to badly to run up to him, but she had business to attended to, though she did take notice of him with a simple wave of the tail, pleased that he sat aside and waited for her to finish up. Clearly her throat as she addressed her patient, “Now then take those Poppy Seeds before bed, make sure you rest up tomorrow, no hunting or fighting.” dismissing the young apprentice, following them to the entrance of her den, escorting them out.
Tiny floof whipping around quickly to face her much larger friend, a toothy grin forcing its way onto her muzzle, unable to hide her joy. Making her way over to him, tiny body pressing against him as she walked passed, a loud purr following her actions, pushing her weight to her paw paws, front paws resting on his shoulder, leaning up to rasp her tongue against his cheek. “Hello Honey.” Returning his greeting, not fully processing what exactly was happening, “A stroll sounds lovely dear. Just let me clean up.” returning to all four of her paws, flicking his nose with her large tail before walking back to her work area. Paws working quickly to clean up her left over cobwebs, the bundle clenched between her teeth, bounding towards her storage, suddenly freezing in place, the realization of what was happening finally hitting her. Cobwebs falling from her jawls, unable to speak herself as she slowly turned to face the large warrior. Taking a moment to make sure she was still talking to the same tom, eyes scanning over him same height, same scars, same small, same handsome feature. Yup it was her Snarlingbadger. “W-what did you say?” Her tiny mind still struggling to process it fully. Tears swelling in her deep blue eyes, He said my name…HE SAID MY NAME! Peachblossom had mentioned the idea of speech therapy to the tom ages ago but he never took her up on the offer, so how was he here, talking to her, in full sentences. Emotions rushing over the molly, her paws rushing back to the tom, barreling into him, sobs filling her den. “How are you doing this. Does it hurt?” Her healer side taking rule over her emotions for a moment, gently prodded his throat, making sure everything seemed normal before shoving her muzzle back into his fur. “I want to know everything” She whispered, over come with so many different feelings. Sure his voice was scratchy, and a bit rough sounding but in just those few words it became her most favorite sound. His voice.March 21, 2020 at 9:11 pm #5539

Ever since he had broken the ice with Peachblossom once more, he found that she was much more approachable and even seemed to be rather excited whenever he was near. He could see that she seemed anxious for her patient to leave but kept her composure, while he tilted his head curiously as the small body of floof quickly moved towards him once the other feline had left. At the feeling of her small body pressed against his own, he felt his ears warm with passionate emotion while he caught the sound of her loud purr which caused him to smile. Clearly she was happy to see him, his pale yellow eyes watching her curiously when she leaned up as far as she could in order to lick his cheek out of affection. This aroused a purr of his own to tickle the back of his throat, smiling softly and faintly as he looked down at his little peach. Tongue scrapping over her forehead before her dropped down onto all four paws once more. Peachblossom spoke casually towards him, already beginning to collect her herbs and place them back within their usual homes. He kept his smile as she had agreed to the stroll, but she didn’t seem a bit fazed by the fact that he had spoken, perhaps she had already known that he had been going through speech therapy for moons. Somehow.. he was disappointed.
Although, he was definitely surprised when Peachblossom dropped the bundle of cobwebs, his eyebrows pulling together as he opened his mouth to ask if she was alright. However, as she turned around for her brilliant blue eyes to finally land on him as she seemed to finally be processing that he had spoken. The reaction he so desperately needed from her. “I said…” He started to speak again, his eyes widening when Peachblossom suddenly darted towards him, her small body colliding into his chest, causing him to take a step back but he felt a smile tug at the corner of his pale lips. “Peachblossom.” The rough and scratchy voice said once more, lowering his head to gently rub his muzzle against the top of the small she-cats head. She was crying with her emotions, causing him to lick at her cheeks to try and still her tears but she was clearly moving on from her shock as she tenderly prodded at his throat. Which was an odd sensation, causing him to cough twice before he gave a reassuring purr. “Hurts sometimes.” He said softly, which was true. Even after the moons of practicing and flexing his vocal cords, sometimes a mouthful of honey was the only thing that could soothe his aching throat. “Tell you over the stroll?” He asked her softly, lowering his head to gently lick at her ears in a reassuring fashion.March 24, 2020 at 2:08 pm #5649PeachParticipant
Peachblossom couldn’t help but have the biggest smile plastered on her muzzle at the thought of her mate talking. Reluctantly her pulled away from his large frame, nodding her head slowly, sniffling back to tears, “Lets go.” Peachblossom was now an adult though admittedly she still looked like a kit next to such a large tom, but she didn’t let that stop her anymore. All of Thunderclan knew of the two so she no longer was hesitant to show her affection for him anymore, pelt pushed into his as they left her den. Ignoring the eyes and small gasp escaping from their clan mates, Peachblossom and Snarlingbadger were so on and off, it always just came as a surprise when they were back together.
Peachblossom broke away from the black and white pelt momentarily, slipping through the entrance before the tom cat. Eyes blinking as they adjusted to the sunlight. Gluing herself back to his side once Snarlingbadger reappeared, “Its been so long since we’ve been able to go out like this. Ive just been so busy since the battle.” Peachblossom hummed happily, enjoying the feeling of the soft breeze rustling through her fur. “Now I believe a certain someone owes me an explanation. How?” The idea of him talking so such a weird concept, she didnt think there would ever be a day that she’d hear his voice. She was happy for him truly, but she couldnt help a sinking feeling growing, what if others saw how great he was now and started perusing him. There was few in the clan who could understand him and no one was better at that then her, but now he could easily communicate with anyone, he didnt need her anymore.March 26, 2020 at 10:02 am #5691

Pale yellow eyes fluttered downward towards the soft peach and cream colored she-cat, her baby blue eyes glistened with happy tears, suddenly making all his hard work that much more worth it. At her words, he gave a simple nod, never really trying to speak unless he really needed to, since his voice was still very much unused he was trying to save it for when he truly needed it. Snarlingbadger allowed the young female to walk ahead of him, slipping out of the den only moments after her, pupils narrowing as the sun assaulted his eyes with its bright rays, grunting faintly in annoyance to the blinding light. Wasn’t long until Peachblossom walked close enough to where her pelt brushed against his own, clearing his throat as he heard the soft gasps going off around them. He was sure that most of the Clan cats knew about their off and on relationship, between Peachblossom’s stubbornness and Snarlingbadger’s hesitation, it did make their relationship hard. Although, he had little doubt that they would work through it, Peachblossom sure seemed determined as she cared very little about what the rest of the clan thought.
Peachblossom always seemed to have more energy than he could ever possess, eyes watching her small figure rush through the entrance and exit of ThunderClan camp, not bothering to stop or slow her down. She was an adult and if she needed help, she seemed to be learning to use her own voice more when in need of help. Head ducking as he mildly missed the bramble branch, it’s thorns beckoning him to just buck his head upward. However, Snarlingbadger had learned from that painful lesson as an elderly apprentice. Never again. He thought in a chiming tone, barely lifting his head before he felt his love press back against his side, looking down at her with a soft smile as she shifted slightly so they both could walk a bit easier while he breathed out a soft sigh through his white nostrils. Clearing his throat of the mucus that was already settling in, he began to speak. “Started practicing by myself but it really hurt to speak so I stopped.” He admitted with a sheepish smile, but gave a small shrug. “Blackdoe noticed what I was doing, she started to help. Took 5 moons to get my voice to be… understandable.” He explained, his long tail lightly draping over her back. “Didn’t tell you, because I wanted to surprise you.” He meowed with a goofy smile finding it’s way on his muzzle.
