Milky felt like she had been taking shelter in Skyclan forever now! This was made even more apparent when the days started to slowly warm up and the snow slowly started to melt and less and less snow powered the ground each waking morning. It was finally the day Milky would be leaving Skyclan, admittedly she had grown quite fond of the odd group of cats, Saffrongaze was such a sweet molly, Lostpaw was an absolute joy, and her den mate…well she just wish she got a chance to know her name before she left. The ginger molly had worked her way into Milkys heart and she was definitely going to miss her the most…well maybe not the most, there was still Firestar. Where to start with Firestar, he was rash and egotistical and handsome and unknowingly kind heart, one minute hes giving a molly the name Lostpaw then the next hes taking her out on strolls and even bringing her prey at times, so he couldn’t be completely bad could he?

Milkys goodbye was going to be bittersweet, she was happy to finally be home with her two legs but leaving Skyclan wasn’t as easy as she thought it was going to be.

Milkys creamy fur ruffled against the chilling wind, a verbal shiver escaping her jowls. Blue eyes turning up towards the ginger tom, seeing no reaction by him from the win, “Seriously it’s freezing out how are you not cold!” breaking the silence, her smaller body leaning slightly into his as they traveled along, Milky had long passed asking him permission to do anything, hed always come back with a sarcastic and rude remark anyways. Studying their surrounds the further away from Skyclan camp they traveled, Milky hadn’t been too far into the territory, an anxious feeling prickling in her paws as she wasn’t able to make out any of their surroundings, leaner a bit deeper into him as they trotted along.

“Are you sure we are going in the right direction?”

Streams of light broke up the darkness ahead of them, the shades of light almost seemed foriegn to her now, she was use to the cooling softness of the moon’s rays rather than the harsh lights ahead of them. The more in focus the lights became the harder her heart pounded, slowly realizing where those lights were coming from, home. A small gasp breaking from her as the scents of Skyclan faded, surprised by the almost immediate difference, This must be the border, the thought pulling at her heart. She wanted to go home but she wasnt ready to leave.

    Firestar ~Skyclan Leader

The silence between them was deafening, but he wasn’t sure what he could say. He was finally getting rid of her! Finally taking her home, maybe now he would get a moment of peace. Yet….he secretly did not want her to leave. For some odd reason that he had grown accustomed to her snarky comments and the constant need to press against him when she got cold. Firestar enjoyed their bantering as well as their moments when he taught her how to properly hunt and use her senses to be able to get around within the wilds. Though he kept his thoughts to himself, seeing no point to voice them as he could sense her excitement to finally return home. It was Milky’s choice, Firestar would respect it and keep his promise in returning her to her two legged home.

Glancing down to the side of him as Milky presses her form against his. Shaking his head in silent amusement as this had become a common thing between the two felines. It always intrigued him when he watches her cream pelt brush against his fiery form. Arching a brow at her, “Aren’t you the one always saying that I’m a fur ball with legs?” Firestar jokingly questions. “Course I get cold, I just can hide it better than you” he teases with a half-lipped smirk before gesturing her to follow along. The large tom couldn’t help but wonder what she could be gaining in returning back to the two legs. From what he could see with in camp was that she had grown close to the medicine cat and the two newly joined she-cats.

Inwardly rolling his eyes at he suddenly remembers Milky lecturing him on giving Lostpaw such a crude name. Course he knew that, it’s not like he only did that because he wanted to. Firestar chose to give her that name because deep within he could sense that Lostpaw was not confident with her disability. He was testing the young molly to see if she would let the name define her or make it her own. The leader never expressed his reasoning for giving Lostpaw her name, as he saw that it was no bodies business or concern but his own. Suddenly the scents around him changed, the air got warmer and thicker around him as the strange scents mingled within the air.

“Yes. I’m sure we are going in the right direction. Unlike you…I actually have a sense of direction” his voice deepens as he refrains from grinning down at her. This was not the time to be openly joking around with her as in a few moments time she would be returning to where she truly belonged. Clearing his throat as he makes sure to keep his gaze straight ahead. A mask easily fitting over his features, making him appear indifferent as he speaks. “Now from my knowledge; if you keep heading in that direction, you will reach the homes of the two legs” his tone returning to the usual firm business-like quality. Yet, even if it seemed that he was not affected at all at the thought of her leaving, his eyes told another story as glimpses of disappointment lingers within his eyes. Sterling himself as he whispers; “I suppose this is goodbye Firestar sighs as he finally wills himself to glance down at the molly. Ember eyes locking with stunning blue as he half expects her to pad away without another word.

Goodbye, those words stung her heart, but why, this was what she wanted right? To return home and live her soft, kittypet life and have nothing to fear, no danger….no excitement; following the same routine everyday, life becoming predictable again. Milky felt her heart being torn in two, the idea of leaving Skyclan and Firestar hooking its claws into her, jerking her back towards Skyclan, but the idea of being with the people who raised and cared for her for all these years grabbing ahold of the other side and pulling her towards the warmth.

Milky paws threatened to pull backwards and walk back to Skyclan with Firestar, but she couldn’t. She promised Firestar she’d only be there for two moons and well two moons were up. Inhaling Milky took a few heavy paw steps forwards, turning to face the large ginger tom, “Can you escort me the whole way…please?” Pleading for the leader to take her, she just wanted to be with him a little longer. Milky knew it was a selfish request and that such a prideful leader would never step foot in kittypet territory but she couldn’t just leave things like this. She had to do something and just needed more time to think of what to do.

    Firestar ~Skyclan Leader

Clenching his jaw in order to keep his emotions from expressing on his sharp features as he watches her hesitantly step away. Firestar hates how this was affecting him, it was so new to the cold fronted tom to relatively feel anything besides irritation unless being around his two brothers. Of course, he wasn’t dim witted enough to not know what he was feeling. He was just too prideful and stubborn to admit that somehow…someway he had developed a bond with the kittypet. Just the thought caused a snort to almost escape him. It was a ridiculous thought, but it was true nonetheless. Somewhere along those two moons that she remained within Skyclan; he had personally sought out her company. At first he denied wanting to be near her. Did everything he could think of to keep busy and steer clear of the snarky and quick tongued Siamese molly. Yet, when he avoided her it would seem that she always found a way to him. Whether it was intentional or not remained unknown.

Sighing softly through his nose as he contains himself from clicking the roof of his tongue in frustration. ‘It’s for the best’ he reminds himself, knowing that his thoughts of reason held true. ‘She wants and belongs with her two legs. She wouldn’t make a good warrior anyways’ he lies to himself but it made it easier for the leader to shove his emotions to the side. Shifting his head upwards as he looks away from the ground, not even have noticed his head had fallen downward to stare intently at the grass beneath his paws. Hearing her voice quake with vulnerability caused him to flinch slightly in surprise. Furrowing his brows as he looks up at her, silently observing her form as she shuffled from side to side. Her request was a difficult one; the leader had never thought of stepping near a two legged home. Firestar blinks blankly at her, his lips pressing tightly together as he tries to think of what to say.

He wondered if she was only asking because she knew that she would more than likely loose her way. Or if there was a different reason entirely. He almost said no, almost told her to leave, to be on her way. No such words would leave him, instead he found himself answering; “I suppose I shall escort you the rest of the way. Don’t want you getting lost or finding your way back to Skyclan” he stiffly says. The last bit of his words may have sounded harsh, but he was trying to separate his emotions from himself. Trying to keep a level head as he hesitantly steps pass the border. His side brushing up against hers as he coax her to follow. “Let’s get you home” his words soft and gentle as if talking to a fragile and delicate animal; in a way Milky was, but emotionally.

Milky kept her sinking feeling to herself at Firestars words, it was clear she wasn’t welcomed back in Skyclan, Milky thought the two had become close during her stay with the clan, he was making it more apparent that it was all in her head. The Siamese marked molly didn’t bother with a reply, she couldn’t, if she opened her lips she knew tears would fall, she didn’t want her crying face to be the last memory the ginger tom had of her. Her paws trembled as he felt his ginger fur against her as he took the lead once more, the final leg of their journey filled with silences.

The further away from Skyclan she got the more she felt her heart sink, the scents of the felines she had known to come slowly fading, being replaced with the scents of her old neighbor slowly invading her senses. Her small pawsteps pausing, her lips parting slightly as she took in the scents all around her, honing in on the familiar nest, “This way…” Her mew was cold, unenthusiastic, the complete opposite of how she usually was. Swallowing hard she pushed ahead of Firestar, taking the lead to her nest, resisting the urge to look over her shoulder at the muscular tom cat.

“Well this is me.” Her creamy pelt stopped in front of her old fence, the barrier that is meant to stop trespassers from coming into their home, unfortunately it didn’t stop this ginger trespasser from entering her mind. Taking a moment to collect herself before she turned tail to face Firestar, “It doesn’t look like my two legs are home, why don’t you come in for a bit. Take a look on what life is like on the other side. Promise I won’t tell anyone.” She just had to keep him with her longer, maybe he’d like life on the inside and decide to stay with her. Her eyes pleading as they locked with his.

    Firestar ~Skyclan Leader

It was obvious to him that she was hurt by the emotionless front he put on. That she truly believed that he didn’t truly care about her. Maybe it was for the best; he needed to make her hate him. To have a reason for her to go; to not ask her to stay. It was odd for the fiery ginger tom to feel these emotions; to know that he cared for the Siamese molly, but not doing anything about it because knowing it wouldn’t change her mind. Watching her pad away, frowning as she doesn’t look back as she leads the way. Signing through his nose as he allows her to lead, ears flickering in every direction as unusual sounds and scents surround him. Wrinkling his nose in distaste but not commenting on it as he knew Milky would take offense.

Firestar couldn’t help but let his gaze wander around him. Feeling so small and inferior to the towering nests before him. Paths of stone leading to and from houses around him, metal beasts resting on the paths unoccupied. Feeling of unease settling within him as he sticks closer to Milky as she was far more familiar to the way of two legs than he was. Subconsciously his ember gaze flickers over her form, watching the way her fluffy tail sways side to side gracefully with her stride to the way her ears perked up as they got closer to a nest with wooden fencing surrounding the quant home. Tearing his eyes from her to glance over at her home. Eyeing it with curiosity yet he also felt so uncomfortable being so close to two legs.

Hearing her soft calming voice drew his attention away from her home. Her breathtaking blue eyes pleading with him as she offers to show him her home. To reveal a part of her that she had only talked about, now was his chance to figure out why she liked being a kitty pet so much. Chewing on the inner part of his cheek as he couldn’t help but think about Blazestar; who had left the way of Skyclan to live a comfortable life with the two legs. “I don’t…” he trails off as he takes in her soft yet sharp features, his piercing blazing gaze taking in the details of her face. It was hard for him to say no when she gave him that look, seeing her look so vulnerable was a great contrast to her head strong personal.

“Okay, but only for a moment” he hesitatingly responds. Giving her a small uncertain grin as he waits for her to show him the way of her kitty pet life.

“Come take a walk on the wild side Firebutt.” Her tone teasing as she tried to put on a strong front, trying so hard to make things seem normal. Her whiskers twitch as they sized up the gap in the fence, pushing her way through it with ease, “Your fluffy tail might have to jump the fence.” The Siamese molly quickly remembered that the clan cats don’t always know what house cat terms are, her tail flicking towards the large white wood that bordered her nest. Snickering when the tom was finally officially in kittypet territory, “See it’s not all big and scary being in a yard is it?” Teasing the tom, hesitantly giving him a friendly shoulder bump. The site of the brightly colored flowers that decorated her yard sending a warm feeling throughout her body, trotting over to the pale lilac colored flowers settled in the back of the garden, nose leaned in closely to them taking in their sweet scent. Her teeth gripping the stem of the plant, pulling to off its base, shoving it into the thick fur behind Firestars ear before he had a chance to object, a giggle escaping from her jowls, “Seeing nothing scary over here.”

Approaching the always unlocked cat door, Milky felt her heart sink, what was she doing this isn’t right this didn’t feel like home. Her paws moved on their own, stepping backwards away from the entrance to her nest, a hard lump swelling in her throat, she wanted to cry out to the Skyclan leader, request he take her home, her true home, but he had much it clear that she wasn’t going back to Skyclan. Inhaling sharply the molly slowly took steps forward, fighting the voice screaming at her to turn around, pushing through the flap the cool tiles sending a weird sensation throughout her paws, it felt new to her even though it had only really been two months since she left. Standing there in the middle of her old nest the air felt cold, she felt a disconnect from all of the things around her. Forcing a smile the dust pointed molly turned around to face the larger tom, “Welcome to my nest.” Milky had been avoiding using the term home ever since they felt Skyclan camp, because it didn’t feel like it was her home anymore.

Leading him around to her food bowls, staring into the empty bowl, “It’s not as good as fresh kill but the one they fed me was pretty good.” Giving him a moment to investigate what she was showing him, her tail grazing his side as she moved on. The cool tile being replaced by the soft, plush carpet, her legs melting against it falling to the floor, “Oh goodness carpet I missed this so much.” Okay so maybe she missed some things about being in a house, forgetting for a moment Firestar was there, rolling onto her back, loving the feeling of the plush footing being rubbed against her fur. Clearing her throat as she remembered he was there, “Sorry…” Her voice trailing off as she stepped back from the tom cat, gauging his reaction of everything. The scent that another cat had been living in her home completely passing up the molly.

    Firestar ~Skyclan Leader

A snort escapes him as the horrendous nickname that she seemed overly fond of using. Rolling his eyes in a mocking manner as he watches her easily slip through the cracks of the white wooden fence. Raising an skeptical eyebrow over at Milky as she waits for him on the other side. Without wasting anymore time the large tom jumps gracefully over the tall wooden barrier. A thud echos softly around him as his large ginger paws make contact with the solid ground. Shaking the impact off his paws as he turns his gaze towards the meadow like feeling of the yard. The grass wasn’t as high and wild, more tamed, but flowers of different shades and color bloomed to their full height sway gently in the breeze. Firestar found that the harsh winds seemed more gentle as the twoleg nest buffers the majority of the harsh wind.

He loves the peaceful silence with the exceptions of bird chirping. Hearing the crunch of grass caused him to look over at the dusty brown pointed Siamese. Jumping slightly as an lilac was put behind his ear. Standing stiffly as he awkwardly looks down at her, he was tempted to knock the flower off, but he knew that Milky was trying to make the situation less tense. Swallowing his pride as he leaves the pale flower in his fur. “I’m not so sure. This flower seems pretty terrifying” he jokes as he follows her as she leads him closer and closer to the entrance of the intimidating structure.

A confused look appearing on his features at the small door flap that seemed to be built specifically for cats to come and go. Pausing as Milky has an inner battle with herself, he could tell that she was hesitant. That she wasn’t sure if going back was the best idea. Firestar remained quiet as he waited to see what she would chose, frowning as she pushes her way through the door. Masking his disappointment, taking a deep breath as he pushes his way through. Ducking as the door wasn’t exactly built for his large form, for a few seconds he felt claustrophobic. His thick fur being pressed on all sides before he manages to get through the cat door with slight difficulty. Huffing as he shakes his mane out, liking his untamed appearance.

A chill running down his spine at the cold smooth surface beneath his paws. It was definitely difference for the Skyclan leader to be within a twoleg nest. The scents around him un-natural as it burned his senses, wrinkling his nose before moving deeper into the unknown. Lightly moving the metal dish, ears twitching as the cold metal scraps against the tiled floor. “How can you eat from this…” he trails off as he wasn’t familiar with the term. ‘Wait…the floor changes?’ He thought as the hard surface now transforms to a soft plush consistency. Tilting his cranium in a curious manner as Milky rolls around on the so called carpet. He could hear her gentle purring before sending him a bashful look at being caught acting like a kit. A small laugh escapes him as he shakes his head at her. “It’s alright…so this is where you live huh? Very different and enclosed” Firestar comments as he continues to look around.

Taking another sniff of the dry air around him caused him to pause for a moment. He could smell the odd scent of two legs, very faint stale scent of Milky, but there was new scent of another cat that lived within this nest. It confused him because Milky always talked about being the only feline. Firestar was hesitant to reveal his findings as he wasn’t sure if he was right, deciding to wait and see if Milky noticed anything different about her home.
