White paws touched down on the snow-bidden RiverClan hunting grounds as the stranger wove elegantly through the shimmering woodland, in the late clutches of night every detail lay perfectly preserved in a coat of frost that crunched quietly beneath his footfalls. He knew many rued the lean times, but he had to admit they had their own beauty…
He came upon their camp easily, the moons of hiding and subterfuge that made up his history were well employed in escorting him effortlessly past the patrols of cats. So many! What a life she must lead here! He thought in awe, observing from many a shadow. It was not disrespect that prompted his dishonesty, but rather that he saw this as the most bloodless way to achieve his goal. But naturally, he could not resist the opportunity to gain insight into his long-lost kin’s life. The spirits kept him well-informed of course, but they had their biases.
Taking a deep breath, he stepped into the bustling hollow- and was not prepared for what met him there.
As expected, the Clan cats did not take kindly to a stranger turning up in their heartland unannounced. They crowded the small black tom and he felt the oxygen vanish from his chest, their garish faces pressing inward drowning out all light. Features stony and unfriendly.
“I-is Wisteria here? Please- I wish to speak to he-“
A paw struck his face and he cowered- what had the spirits gotten him into now?!February 10, 2020 at 2:41 pm #5052

The commotion that had occurred near the front entrance of camp had immediately attracted the Clan leader’s attention, her head swiveling around from where she had been casually chatting with a warrior to spot a cluster of cats huddling around something. Her snout stuck upwards, jaws parting to drink in the scent of what was attracting the attention of her camp currently; something about it was vaguely familiar and it didn’t cause immediate concern to her. The scent was not ThunderClan, WindClan, ShadowClan, or SkyClan but it wasn’t exactly foreign either. It smelled of rogue but also not of a rogue at the same time. It was perplexing.
Catching sight of one of her warriors lashing out at their visitor, Wisteriastar snapped at them, “What are you doing!?” She demanded, astonished by the warrior’s behavior, as aggression without cause was something she highly disliked. Even if there was a strange visitor here to see them, there hadn’t been a reason yet to assume that they had come with ill intent. As the crowd parted to allow her access to view who had arrived, Wisteriastar found herself stiff with shock.
Before her crouched a cat she never thought she’d see again– her lost brother, Faize. Her round orange eyes lingered on him, her jaw parted in a speechless manner. He’s alive, but how? The last that the RiverClan leader had seen of her brother, he too was fleeing from the horrid place of their birth, but since she had yet to have seen him, she had naturally assumed that he hadn’t truly managed to escape the fate that the rest of their family had suffered. “Faize…” She murmured, lowering herself to see him eye-to-eye, her movements slow and careful as to not alert him of anything that could be potentially startling, as this was a situation that neither of them really knew how to respond to. “How did you find me?”February 10, 2020 at 4:03 pm #5057
The presence of his sister was like the sun breaking through stormy skies. The blow from the crowd had not hurt, truly, he had expected things to be tense with what little the spirits had told him. In retrospect, there may have been few options for not alarming the residents here.
He smiled fully as she drew nearer, having to lower herself to meet his eyes. Goodness, she had really gotten the lions share of the gene pool hadn’t she? Gingerly he stood to touch noses. Her scent flowed over him, stealing the both of them away to the warmth of their kithood. The only sweet days either had known for so long. I hope you’ve found happiness again, I know I have. He thought of his mate and kits, most having followed in his pawsteps of bringing aid where it was needed.
“It’s good to see you, Wis.” He murmured, still gazing at her in awe. “The spirits have told me many things of your life here, but it’s good to see it for myself. They said that you needed help, so here I am. But I am….sorry, I did not come sooner. There are so many cats in the lands who need help.”February 13, 2020 at 11:36 am #5107

“The spirits told you…?” The calico RiverClanner echoed, her expression furrowing in confusion as she spoke with her long-lost brother. What is he muttering about? she thought to herself. Granted, it had been many moons, many seasons since the two of them had last seen one another and their lives had clearly gone on two different paths, it seemed as though her brother had made spiritual connections with ancestors she had never known in order to survive as long as he had. Her orange eyes narrowed as he spoke on about her needing help and she thought back to the recent battle between ThunderClan and RiverClan and how both sides had suffered losses. Faize was right, especially with her medicine cat out of commission with illness, they had many injuries that needed treatments and yet no one to treat them, it was a horrible time for her Clan. Wisteriastar sighed, sitting herself upright and motioning with her tail to urge her brother to do the same, that he didn’t need to cower in fear of her clanmates for she would insure his safety here in her Clan. “Yes, you’re right,” she admitted quietly, “There was a battle recently involving the Clans and many of my friends were hurt in the process. Unfortunately, our healer isn’t able to help us right now so I’m not entirely sure what we’ll do. But I do have… Friends in ShadowClan I could probably call on for assistance if I needed to.”February 20, 2020 at 9:42 pm #5214
The sleek tomcat slowly straightened his back, gazing neutrally at the slowly dispersing crowd of facing around them. Many seemed to sense it was a personal matter for their leader, something he felt a touch grateful for. Faize had never been good around large populations, he was used to the company of the dead if any at all.
“Yes, sorry, I know it sounds a bit cryptic. But they have always spoken to me, they’ve guided my pawsteps just one step ahead of our family every time.” His kin was another reason he avoided crowds….there was no limit to what Jetstream might do to any cats who harbored him for too long.
“I am indeed sorry to hear of your troubles. If I can be of help, you need only ask. But if I would only get in the way, I have no wish to burden you.” Purred the small tomcat.February 24, 2020 at 4:41 pm #5267

The RiverClan feline listened in earnest to her brother’s words– it was a bit peculiar to her that he had become accustomed to a strong bond with ancestors of deceased cats, as no one of the rogue community they had originated from had any sort of sense for that kind of thing. It was unique, that was for sure. But all the same, she was glad that he had found himself a faith and had used such a means to escape safely from their family. That was all that had mattered to her. Upon hearing his next sentence, Wisteriastar shook her head vehemently. “You are never unwelcome hear, Faize. Never, you hear me? As long as I am here, RiverClan should be an option of a second home to you,” she told him, “we can use all the extra paws we can get.”February 25, 2020 at 4:58 pm #5286
His eyes rounded and filled with unshed tears, her slim features reflected therein yet his eyes only absorbed her perfections. His big, beautiful sister had truly become everything she’d set out to be.
“You do yourself credit.” He said softly, looking away, blinking the tears down his cheeks. “I do not deserve such kindness….I left you, and for that I’ll always be sorry.” He murmured, memories of their traumatic childhood stirred behind his mournful tone. In truth, he often found himself searching for a right answer where she was concerned. But at this point he began to wonder….had there been one?
