    Goldenrose ~ WindClan Queen

Goldenrose lay in her nest, ears pinned back against her head as she kept shifting. Tonight she just couldn’t get comfortable, small pains in her lower stomach had been bothering her all day and she had hoped once she laid down for the night that she would be able to get comfortable. But honestly the past week she hadn’t slept much, having moved to the nursery to be closer to the other queens and get situated before her kits arrived was important. Although, she was missing Wolfstar terribly, his warm and the musk of his scent comforting her as she slept. Tail tip twitching with annoyance, she slowly lifted her chin, bright green eyes landing on her stomach as she lowered her head and gave a gentle sniff to her abdomen. “Sweet dears… mommy needs her sleep too.” She whispered gently to her stomach, her long tongue rasping over her swollen stomach before she shifted once more, the pain ebbing away just enough for her to sigh with relief. Sleep had almost taken her when a stranger feeling erupted within her stomach, causing her to jolt awake as she lifted her head and glanced towards her stomach, nose twitching a strange scent took over her senses.

Another queen awoke from the smell of Goldenrose’s water breaking, having become accustomed to the scent of birth matter the other Queen did her best not to disturb her kittens as she hurried out of her nest to sniff at Goldenrose’s pelt. “Oh, Goldenrose! The kits are coming. I’ll go grab Nettlenose and Startledcrow.” Grasscloud meowed with an excited tone tickling her throat as she rushed out of the nursery, leaving Goldenrose bewildered and suddenly very nervous. Birthing wasn’t always easy and from what the medicine cats had been saying, she had a fairly good sized litter cooking. “Looks like I’ll be meeting you all tonight.” She whispered softly, watching as Grasscloud walked back into the nursery. “Nettlenose and Startledcrow will be here shortly, they are gathering their herbs. Are you feeling okay? Is there anything I can do?” Grasscloud rambled, confusing Goldenrose for a brief moment before she blinked her bright green eyes and smiled. “I feel fine for now, although you could wake Wolfstar for me and let him know his kits are coming.” Goldenrose asked in a hopeful voice, which she was met with a small smile and nod. “Of course… I’ll be back.” Grasscloud informed Goldenrose, giving her a comforting lick to her forehead before the silver tabby rushed out of the nursery.

Grasscloud felt awkward about being the feline to awaken her leader, but he certainly had to know that his mate was going to be giving birth. It was a very important occasion. Slowly she looked through the entrance of the den, orange eyes flickering around the den before she cleared her throat. “Wolfstar.. Wolfstar?” She finally caught sight of the tomcat, fast asleep in his nest. Grunting with amusement, Grasscloud walked towards the tomcat and gently nudged him awake with her paw, smiling down at him. “Sorry to wake you, Wolfstar. But Goldenrose’s water just broke and she’ll be going into labor shortly.” Grasscloud informed him, smiling as she started to walk out of the den, making sure to stay out of his way. Tonight was the night that new additions to the clan would be born.

Since Goldenrose had decided it best for her to sleep in the nursery since she was so close to kitting, Wolfstar found it extremely hard to fall asleep. Since saying goodnight to her, he had been sitting up in his nest, feeling antsy and a little anxious. Not just from them sleeping apart, but from the Gathering they had the sunrise before. The nerve Hollystar and Kass felt they had irritated the WindClan leader to no end. How could she have been so stupid and appoint a rogue for deputy? Despite Wolfstar being born as a rogue as well, he was brought into WindClan at the age of three moons old. Kass had just become a Clan cat, and she didn’t leave her rogue attitude at the entrance of ThunderClan, bringing it in with her to spread it around.

After finally dismissing those thoughts, he curled up in his nest to try and get a little bit of sleep. Goldenrose’s side of the nest was empty and alone, but he eventually put himself into a sleep.

It felt he was only asleep for two seconds before someone was nudging him awake. Wolfstar gasped and snapped his head up, unsheathing his claws and looking around with his eyes wide before they rested on Grasscloud, a WindClan queen. “Grasscloud?” He looked behind her to see if anyone else came with her, but she was alone. Wolfstar stood up and listened to what the queen had to say. His heart leaped with excitement and nervousness. “She’s kitting? Thank StarClan!” The sooner the kits were born, the sooner they would become apprentices and she could sleep beside him again. “Come on, let’s go!”

His tail waved happily behind him as he rushed out of his den and made his way to the makeshift nursery. He was sad their kits wouldn’t be born in their permanent camp, but he didn’t care about that right now. Wolfstar stopped in front of the nursery entrance, breathing in slowly before continuing forward. His head lowered as he pushed through, narrowing his eyes and waiting for them to adjust to the darkness. The sight of Goldenrose laying down so calm made every muscle in Wolfstar’s body relax as well. “My love,” he purred, padding up to her and pressing his muzzle to her cheek, breathing in her sweet scent. She already smelled like milk like the other queen’s. “You’ll do just fine, Goldenrose. Where’s Startledcrow and Nettlenose? Did someone get them for you? Do you need anything?”

<p style=”text-align: center;”><span style=”font-size: 10pt;”>Nettlenose had finally settled down for the night in her nest, which she had tried to make as comfortable as possible, her fluffy tail curled around her small figure and resting atop her nose. She had just finished rearranging the herbs within her makeshift den, trying to organize things while they spent their time here.</span></p>
<p style=”text-align: center;”><span style=”font-size: 10pt;”>Grasscloud’s urgent mew caused her round emerald eyes to snap open, her ears perking alertly as she listened to her message. Someone was ready to begin their kitting, and only just anyone, but Goldenrose. Her father’s mate and mother of her half-siblings to be.</span></p>
<p style=”text-align: center;”><span style=”font-size: 10pt;”>”<span style=”color: #808000;”>I’ll be right there Grasscloud, try and keep her comfortable!</span><span style=”color: #000000;”>” Nettlenose called after the queen as she rose from her nest. Quickly, she went back to her herb supply and nosed through it. Borage, just as a booster for her milk supply, yes…no poppy seeds, a shame but they couldn’t be used for queens. Ah, her last couple of raspberry leaves…</span></span></p>
<p style=”text-align: center;”><span style=”font-size: 10pt;”>Cramming her mouth with what herbs she deemed necessary, the molly trotted briskly off to the nursery, her heart beginning to beat quicker. This was exciting, but kitting was always a nervous manner, so unpredictable and all she could really do was assist while Goldenrose did her best as well.</span></p>
<p style=”text-align: center;”><span style=”font-size: 10pt;”>”<span style=”color: #808000;”>I’m here!</span>” Nettlenose announced through the herbs in her mouth, rather nudging Wolfstar aside as she came to stand beside Goldenrose. She set the herbs down and inspected the queen’s swollen stomach, the clear sign her water had broke and the labored breathing that rose and fell with her chest</span></p>

<p style=”text-align: center;”>”<span style=”color: #808000;”>Goldenrose, I’m right here with you.”</span><span style=”color: #808000;”> </span><span style=”color: #000000;”>The medicine cat reassured, her tone soothing. “<span style=”color: #808000;”>I’m going to begin massaging your stomach. Take deep, timely breaths and relax your muscles as you exhale. You’ll need to push, are you ready?” </span><span style=”color: #000000;”>She questioned gently, though it wasnt as if there was much choice. The medicine cat began to carefully massage the queen’s stomach with her paws when she was sure the queen could proceed, praying to Starclan for a simple process and no deaths this night.</span></span></p>

    Goldenrose ~ WindClan Queen

She was beginning to feel uncomfortable, small spasms were contracting throughout her stomach, causing her breathing to be labored while Grasscloud kept her calm, reassuring her that this was completely normal. Goldenrose has never kitted before, her ears pinned back against her head until she noticed a looming figurine at the foot of the den, letting her chin tilt for a moment before her scent glands tickled with the familiar aroma of Wolfstars scent. Purring loudly when he rushed to meet her, his muzzle pressing against her cheek was definitely reassuring as she looked up at her mate. “Nettlenose will be here soon.” Goldenrose panted, the tip of her tail twitching anxiously and nervously as she looked towards the entrance of the den before she looked back up at Wolfstar. “Just your presence is enough.” Goldenrose reassured her mate, grunting with pain as her eyes squinted from the feeling of labor.

Ears perked upright for a moment when Nettlenose finally announced her arrival, a small sigh of relieve leaving her lips as she watched Nettlenose anxiously. She purred softly towards Nettlenose, but the purr was cut short as another spasm of pain rippled throughout her stomach, causing a small gasp of pain to leave her parted lips. Panting softly as she nodded towards Nettlenose to begin massaging her stomach, although at first the pressure that Nettlenose applied to her womb felt wonderful at first, she began to feel pain towards her lower region, causing her to whimper for a moment before she nodded at Nettlenose. With little to no choice she would be ready, leaning back as she tried to get more comfortable, her chin lowering against her paws as she felt the overwhelming need to push. “Gahhhhhh….” Goldenrose groaned in pain, pushing will all of her might as a small black furred tomkit was born. Shaking with the relieve that one birth was done, Goldenrose turned her head towards Nettlenose and her newborn son. “Is… the kit alright?” She asked hesitantly, groaning again as her stomach convulsed.

Wolfstar flinched when Goldenrose groaned in pain, wishing he could take it away from her. His mate had gone through so much the past moon, and even though she didn’t complain about the pain in her ribs nearly as much, he was still worried they would bother her during the kitting. His ears swiveled towards the entrance of the nursery when Nettlenose pushed her way through, carrying a bunch of different herbs between her jaws. He hurried out of her way quickly, knowing that medicine cat’s turned very serious when a queen was giving birth, and the last thing he wanted to be was in the way.

Seeing as this was his fourth litter of kits, the anxiety of his mate going through this wasn’t as high as first time fathers. However, his paws still fidgeted anxiously as he watched his daughter care for his love, massaging her belly to help the process go smoother. Cremefur didn’t care to have Wolfstar around while she was kitting, finding it easier to not have a room full of cats when she was in so much pain. He was grateful Goldenrose would let him be a part of this. Excitement rushed through his body as the first little body slid out of Goldenrose and onto her nest. He was surprised to see such strikingly black fur on the little tom, wondering where he could have gotten it. Wolfstar purred and leaned closer to make sure the kit was alright, but still staying far back enough to not be in Nettlenose’s way. “He’s beautiful!” he purred loudly.

~Snowpaw, the floofiest floof of Windclan~

Snowpaw usually wasn’t up around this time, normally she was sound asleep, dozing peacefully away. Yet, something deep stirred within her subconscious, signaling that she should be awake. Her sky-blue orbs fluttered open, curious and bright as she scrambled to her paws. Something about the air tasted different, she took in a big gulp of air to taste it. It tasted fresh and new, like something had begun to change in her life. Though she wasn’t quite certain as to what that was, but she wouldn’t find out just by standing here, like a bee brain gazing out of the apprentice’s den.

With a yawn, and a full stretch of her petite body, she trotted out of the apprentice den and was greeted with the sight of what she believed to be Wolfstar, Grasscloud, and Nettlenose bounding across the clearing and into the Nursery. The light of the silvery moon and the stars above, only giving her just enough light to guess the identities of the felines. She wondered why they might be rushing to the nursery, when it dawned upon her, that Goldenrose must finally be kitting! Without any hesitation, Snowpaw shot across the clearing, like a star shooting across the indigo sky above, and she all but leaped into the nursery.

“I came as fast as I could, did I miss any—” Snowpaw’s words caught in her throat, as she froze in the entryway of the nursery. An odor most pungent and a sight most unpleasant assaulted her senses. She watched in frozen horror as Goldenrose birthed her first kit. “Oh… sweet….. Starclan!” She mewled, her voice high pitched and strained, as she promptly hid her face in her bush of a tail. “S-Sorry Goldenrose, I’ll talk to you and be besides you for support, but I’m not looking. Please don’t make me look. My goodness, remind me never to have kits of my own.” She used her sense of smell to guide her over to Goldenrose, and she settled down besides her, but also in a spot where she wouldn’t be in the way of the other felines while they helped her kit.

<p style=”text-align: center;”><span style=”font-size: 10pt;”><p style=”text-align: center;”><span style=”font-size: 10pt;”>Goldenrose’s cry of pain fell upon Nettlenose’s ears, though she continued to gently massage the she-cats tense stomachs, used to the cries that came with the pains of labor. It was a miraculous thing, how the molly was able to endure such pain in order to receive the joy of kits of her own, something the medicine cat wondered if she would ever experience herself.</span></p></span>
<span style=”font-size: 10pt;”><p style=”text-align: center;”><span style=”font-size: 10pt;”>As the first kitten came into the world, the cream colored tabby was quick to move over, kneeling her head down and nipping the sac that held the kit. A black colored tom, and he was moving, a moment of relief. Nettlenose gave the kit a few swift licks and then stepped back over to Goldenrose’s belly. “<span style=”color: #808000;”>Wolfstar, since you’re in here I’m going to put you to work. I need you to lick the kit’s fur the opposite direction to stimulate its breathing, if you would.</span>” She directed, going back to gently massaging with her paw.</span></p></span>
<span style=”font-size: 10pt;”><p style=”text-align: center;”><span style=”font-size: 10pt;”>”<span style=”color: #808000;”>Alright now Goldenrose, you’re doing wonderfully.</span>”<span style=”color: #000000;”> She hummed softly, ignoring her question about the kit’s well-being. Nettlenose had learned never to reveal the condition of the kits until they were all born, as queen’s could grow distraught and further complicate the kitting process if they were to hear one wasn’t doing so well, especially the new mothers. </span>”<span style=”color: #808000;”>Just keep pushing, lets get the rest of your little ones into the world.</span>”</span></p></span>
<span style=”font-size: 10pt;”><p style=”text-align: center;”><span style=”font-size: 10pt;”>Ignoring the apprentice who had just come in, whom of which was amusingly repulsed by the scent of the process, she briefly glanced over to see if the black-furred kitten was fairing alright. Her heart swelled a bit, as it tended to upon seeing the helpless form of a newly birthed kit, their fragile and darling little bodies. So precious…</span></p></span></p>

    Goldenrose ~ WindClan Queen

She panted softly as she leaned back, her head leaning against her nest while her eyes closing tightly. Within the the pain she was currently in, she barely noticed what was going on around her. Nettlenose was getting her kit out of the sac, while Wolfstar was gazing lovingly down at his newborn son, licking his fur the wrong way to stimulate the breathing. Snowpaw appeared out of no where, her head lightly leaning into her apprentice before another groan of pain slipped from her lips as her stomach convulsed with strong contractions getting closer and closer together. When she wasn’t groaning in pain she was panting from the effort of this labor, eyes half way open before she began to push once more, her body tending up as she was fixing to give birth to her second kitten. Groaning, she cried out in a soft manner as her second kitten was born, a small dark stormy grey tabby Tom.

Goldenrose was about to relax as Nettlenose took over getting the Tom out of the sac and breathing, but her body instantly convulsed. Clearly she wasn’t done giving birth and her body was making sure that she knew. Tail tip twitching as her body strained with giving birth to her third kit. Head tilting for a moment, she began to pant heavily, ears pressed back against her slim head for a moment before she gasped. Beginning to push once more; her eyebrows pulled together as she pushed twice before the third and final kit slid from her body. A small rose gold dusted and white tabby she-kit. Panting softly, Goldenrose finally leaned back against her nest as Nettlenose got her kits together, almost waiting impatiently to meet her little ones officially.

Wolfstar had anticipated Nettlenose asking for his help and he nodded his head, grabbing the little tomkit by the scruff to bring him closer. With quick rasps, Wolfstar licked his kit’s pelt the wrong way until he heard a cute squeal coming from its tiny jaws. His blue eyes brightened and he purred. “He’s healthy, Goldenrose,” he meowed to her, but he was unable to say anymore due to her giving birth to another one. He looked at the other kit, smiling as he noticed it was another tom, but with dark gray tabby fur that looked a lot more like Wolfstar. He laughed happily and grabbed the second kit, rasping his tongue over him until hearing another squeal. Both tomkits were mewling, opening and closing their mouths to suckle. He kept cleaning them, wanting Goldenrose to see them cleaned and beautiful.

Once the third, and final, kit was born, Wolfstar placed the two tomkits at Goldenrose’s belly side, letting Nettlenose clean the other kit. It was a she-kit! Wolfstar pressed his muzzle to Goldenrose’s neck and couldn’t help but let out another happy laugh. “They’re beautiful, Goldenrose! You are so amazing, and I’m so proud of you. We have two toms and a she-kit. The she-kit looks more like you. Look, look.” He nudged her lightly, helping her lift her head to look at her newborns. Wolfstar looked up where StarClan was and gave them a silent prayer of thanks. It was an easy kitting and all of their kits were healthy.

Suddenly, a faint shimmer of stars appeared over Goldenrose and their new kits. It was a familiar shape to Wolfstar. Cremefur. His former mate smiled and purred at him, lowering her nose to touch the she-kit before slowly fading away back towards the sky. Wolfstar watched the stars with his heart full. He knew Cremefur was happy for him, and he was grateful for having had a mate so loving and caring. Looking down at Goldenrose, he didn’t think he could feel any happier. “I promise I will care for you and our kits for the rest of my life, and even after, Goldenrose.” Wolfstar then looked up at Nettlenose. “And thank you for everything. How does it feel knowing you just helped kit your half siblings?” He purred, his tail tip twitching happily.

<span style=”font-size: 10pt;”>As the second kit was born, Nettlenose again left her post to nip the sac and free the small grey tom, and then again with the third. Thankful for Wolfstar’s presence, as he seemed more than happy to help, excited even, she returned to Goldenrose’s belly. Giving it a few gentle prods, she smiled a little, feeling no more kits, meaning the hardest of it all was done. “That’s the last of them Goldenrose, you’ve done wonderfully!” The medicine cat announced happily, unable to keep a purr from rising in her throat.</span>

<span style=”font-size: 10pt;”>She dropped her emerald gaze to the squiggly kits at the queen’s stomach, the two toms and the sweet female. Briefly, the molly leaned down and nosed at the kits, inspecting with care the rise and fall of their little chest and the energy levels of each. Healthy, they seemed perfectly healthy! Her round eyes softening with the joy of new life, all fine, she stepped back to allow Wolfstar and Goldenrose more room. “Your kits are in prime condition, and hungry!” She mused, leaning down and picking up the herbs she had brought along with her. “I need you to use a bit more of your energy and eat these few leaves, Goldenrose. The borage will help your milk come stronger for the little ones, and these raspberry leaves should help your pain ease quicker. If you experience any pains that worry you or are extreme, or notice any concerning behavior in your kits, send for me instantly.” The cream colored molly said gently.</span>

<span style=”font-size: 10pt;”>She nosed the leaves next to Goldenrose’s muzzle, but then paused, the fur on her spine lifting. A familiar scent…a familiar presence…it was almost like…</span>

<span style=”font-size: 10pt;”>Nettlenose turned her head, hopeful, but saw nothing. How odd. Why would Cremefur be standing behind her anyways? Clearing her throat, she turned a warm smile to her father. He must be so happy, his family continued to grow, and his heart was surely full of love. “I’m so happy, truly. I can’t wait to watch them grow!” She hummed, touching her nose to her leader’s shoulder. “I’ll begin cleaning the area and changing out your nest, Goldenrose. You relax, you’ve done such a splendid job!” The medicine cat praised, satisfied with how things had played out.</span>

    Goldenrose ~ WindClan Queen

She sighed softly as she laid back, her stomach and lower region were rather tender to the touch, any form of movement caused her to wince in pain. However, she opened her eyes at the feel of Wolfstar gently pressing his muzzle into her neck, a small weak smile found its way onto her lips when he laughed, the sound was pure and joyous. Two toms and a she-kit… that was perfect. She thought to herself, with the help of Wolfstar she was able to sit up, bright green eyes finally landing upon the three tiny bundles of fur as they wiggled about near her stomach. “They are beautiful…” She purred loudly, suddenly regaining some energy as she lowered her chin, nostrils flaring as she breathed in the new scents of her offspring. They were so small and helpless, their eyes shut tightly and their little mouths gaping as they desired their mothers milk instantly. Goldenrose smiled softly, but moved her head when Nettlenose pressed down on her stomach to make sure everything was alright within her, grimacing for a brief moment before she smiled at the Medicine cat.

Clearing her throat, she looked at the colors of her kits pelts, arching an eyebrow at the wild black fur to her first-born, chin tilting as she licked the tiny toms head as he squeaked in small protest. “I don’t know where the black fur came from.” She purred in amusement, gently nosing her kit towards her stomach, helping him latch on in order to feed, her little son had no issue with doing so. Smiling she turned her chin in the direction of Nettlenose as she placed the herbs next to her paws, tail tip twitching with annoyance, not really wanting to chew on plants but she understood why she should. “Thank you, Nettlenose.” She smiled softly, before lowering her head to pick up the bundle of herbs, beginning to chew while a spur expression crossed her face. Plants did not taste satisfying but she would endure for her new litter of kittens. Finally swallowing the mouthful of plants, she looked back towards her kittens as Wolfstar promised that he would look after her and their growing family, even in death. She purred and leaned back into her mate for the moment, giving his chin a lick before he began to speak with Nettlenose. While he spoke with his daughter, she leaned down in order to observe her other two kits, her nose gently rubbing against the side of the dark stormy grey tabby tom, small squeaks leaving his lips as his head shakily moved side to side, a small white patch could finally be seen on his chest. He wasn’t patched like his father but the grey’s in color were almost identical. “He looks a lot like you, Wolfstar.” She purred softly, although her mate wasn’t paying attention to her. After inspecting her second son, she tenderly helped her kit towards the warmth and comfort of her stomach, needing little help to latch on, greedily suckling.

Now her attention moved towards her only daughter, lowering her head to look at the off white tabby, finding amusement that her mate hadn’t been wrong. Rose gold dusted her daughters forehead, spine and all the way to the tip of her tail. Licking her kits pelt for a moment, her daughter didn’t exactly complain but more so lean into her mothers touch. “You do look a little like me.” She whispered softly, picking her kit up by the scruff and laying her next to her brothers, suddenly realizing how much smaller she was than the Tom-kits. Her daughter had a little issue latching on but once she did, her little paws were kneading at the fur and stomach, small little toes pressing into her skin gently, causing her to purr. “They are perfect…” She whispered softly, chin lifting towards Wolfstar as she flicked his ear with a paw to get his attention once more. Their kits needed names. “What do you think for names…? I think the she-kit should be Heatherkit.” She smiled, glancing down at her daughter.

When Nettlenose started clearing out Goldenrose’s nest, he lowered his head to rasp his tongue over each kit’s forehead. They were so tiny, and he could hardly believe they would grow up to become strong warriors someday. And I get to give them their warrior names! That was always exciting for Wolfstar; coming up with warrior name’s for the apprentices who passed their assessments, and he tried his best to come up with ones that represented them the most. These kits would be the first of his he would get to name. So, he felt a little bit of pressure coming up with their prefixes. Wolfstar smiled with relief when Goldenrose started first, naming their sweet she-kit Heatherkit. He nodded in agreement, happy she gave her a name that reminded him of the moors. Heather bushes were sporadically placed everywhere in their territories and outside their temporary camp, painting the hills with their pink and purple flowers. “That’s a good name,” he meowed, nose touching the top of Heatherkit’s head once more.

Wolfstar then looked toward the black tomkit whose fur spiked in every direction. His firstborn, Blizzardfall, had fur just like that except she was silver and white. However, if the tom had a personality just like Blizzardfall, he would be another wild one. “How about Wildkit?” he asked. “His fur is spiking everywhere and I can only imagine his personality will be the same.” His whiskers twitched with amusement, hoping Goldenrose liked the name. Heatherkit, Wildkit, and…. Wolfstar suddenly went blank when it came to naming the gray tomkit. The shades of gray on his coat were a lot like Wolfstar’s, but he couldn’t come up with anything. “What do you think for this big guy?” he asked his mate, pointing to him with the tip of his tail. His head tilted as he tried to think.

She smiled softly to herself when she saw how gentle her mate was being around their kittens, his eyes and expression were warm and soft as he tenderly licked the top of Heatherkit’s head. Purring loudly at the sight of such a large tomcat being tender, her bright green gaze locked into the small wiggling forms of her kits. Chin tilting slightly as her mates attention was suddenly upon their pure black furred tomkit, causing her to lower her head in order to get a closer look at her first born. She was simply amused with how crazy his pelt was, fur sticking up as she mentally reminded herself that it would be crazy trying to groom him. “Wildkit..” She murmured softly, her eyes softening as her son suckled away to fill his stomach. “I love it.” She smiled, lifting her chin as she gently rasped her tongue over Wolfstar’s cheek.

Goldenrose looked towards the dark grey tabby tomkit, he was just as big as Wildkit and was the quietest out of all the kits. “Hmmmm.” She muttered in a thoughtful tone, chin tilting as she licked the top of her sleepy kitten. He meowed softly and lifted his head to reveal a soft white patch on his chest, causing her purr as he looked so much like his father. She took a moment before she looked at Wolfstar he smiled. “How about Breezekit?” She questioned, before looking down at the large tomkit, purring roughly as she waited to see what her mate thought about the name. “My grandfathers name was Breezeclaw and he was a grey Tom.” She suggested, lowering her chin as she tenderly licked her kits a few times.

Wolfstar smiled softly at Goldenrose’s suggested name for the gray tomkit. “Breezekit is a lovely name,” he purred. “Heatherkit, Wildkit, and Breezekit. We’re going to have our paws full with these ones, aren’t we?” His heart warmed as he said all of their kit’s names, testing them on the tongue. They were strong and proud WindClan names. The Clan would be pleased. The ghost of Cremefur had already left his mind as he looked down at Goldenrose and the kits, excitement tingling through his body that he had a perfect family. Wolfstar looked up at Nettlenose as she continued cleaning out Goldenrose’s nest. “Heatherkit kind of looks like you, Nettlenose,” he meowed. “Her pelt is a different color, but your faces look kind of the same.”

He hoped his older kits were more happy for him than anything, knowing they still missed their mother greatly. But none of them said anything negative towards him, letting him be happy after being so miserable for so long. Goldenrose was a StarClan’s send. “You’re probably exhausted, Goldenrose. Would you like me to bring you some prey or are you wanting to rest?” Wolfstar leaned over to rasp his tongue soothingly over his mate’s forehead, his tail draping over her flank.
