A full moon hung high above in the sky, a few clouds occasionally skidding by to block out it’s glow. Stars were hardly visible, an eerie and unusual sight indeed. As was par for the course, a wind was blowing across the Ghostly Flats. It wasn’t a blast of strong air like usual, however, but more a gentle breeze that would rustle a stray leaf here and there. Coos could be heard coming from the forest here and there, dispersed with no obvious pattern to them.
From the darkness, a figure stepped. Their features were oddly indistinguishable, though. The harder one tried to look, the more the figure seemed to fade into the background. The only thing clearly visible was their blood red eyes that seemed to pierce even the most secretive of cats to their very cores.
“Gɾҽҽƚιɳɠʂ, Cʅαɳ ƈαƚʂ,” the figure finally spoke. Their voice was a conglomeration of all sorts of tones, soothing to the ear but also grating in a way. High but low, and every pitch in between. Was this really only one figure talking, and not multiple?
“Tσɳιɠԋƚ ιʂ α ɳιɠԋƚ υɳʅιƙҽ αɳყ σƚԋҽɾ. A ɳιɠԋƚ ɯԋҽɾҽ SƚαɾCʅαɳ αɳԃ ƚԋҽ Dαɾƙ Fσɾҽʂƚ ƚԋҽɱʂҽʅʋҽʂ αɾҽ ρσɯҽɾʅҽʂʂ, ɯԋҽɾҽ ɱυƈԋ σʅԃҽɾ ƈɾҽαƚυɾҽʂ ɾυʅҽ σʋҽɾ αʅʅ.” As if to punctuate the point, a lone howl burst from out of the darkness and faded off into silence. Cσɱҽ, ϝσʅʅσɯ,” they mumbled, turning to lead the way to a large clearing. If one looked closely enough, they might recognize it as the Ghostly Flats. But where did all these trees come from? This figure must have powerful friends, indeed.
A large fire, a bonfire basically, burned in the middle of said new clearing. The heat can be felt from even the edge of the clearing, meaning it must be extremely hot. Somehow, though, the heat is even bearable standing nearly on top of the fire. It serves well to keep out any chill of the night, and serves to put any uneasy feelings to rest.
Iƚ ɯσυʅԃ Ⴆҽ ɯιʂҽ ɳσƚ ƚσ ԃҽɳყ ƚԋҽɱ,” the figure explained and simultaneously warned. Then it melted back into the shadows from which it had came, leaving the Clan cats to their business. Who would be the first brave soul to attempt a story?
Welcome to the Kugyay Halloween 2020 Event!
By popular demand, all characters are going to be allowed to mingle and share ghost stories! There aren’t many rules to this Event, but just a few points I’d like to touch upon:
- This Event takes place from 10/24/20-10/31/20
- All characters are welcome during this event- that means any rank, any age, any Clan (or lack thereof)! Yes, you understand that right, even loners and rogues can join in.
- No fighting or bickering, just stories and a fun time, please.
- This Event is meant strictly for fun, but Annika volunteered to make a chibi for the Event “winner”. This winner will be determined by a poll, which will be put together and posted after the event is officially wrapped up! So make sure to have your character tell the best story they can.
- This Event WILL NOT BE CANON after this roleplay. That means this roleplay will not affect any roleplay outside of this Event.
- If your character is going to be telling a story, please post the whole story in one single post so everyone can have a fair chance to get their own stories posted. Not every member/character participating has to tell a story, but you will not be entered in the polling if you don’t post a story!
That’s all I can think of for now, but I’ll make sure to update these rules if we encounter any other problems. Now, go tell some stories and have fun! <33October 24, 2020 at 10:32 pm #8431FoxParticipant
Snake padded towards the fire, confused. What did that odd figure mean when it said that “starclan” and the “dark forest” had no power? It looked as though he was in a pretty dark forest right now, though he couldn’t remember how he’d gotten there. The strange creature had said something about sharing stories? Did that mean there would be other cats here? He looked around suspiciously, his skin prickling,* and sure enough, there were other cats approaching. He hoped they wouldn’t decide to attack him. There were so many cats, there wasn’t much he could do if they were hostile. He wondered if he could keep them in a friendly mood, but he couldn’t think of any stories to tell. He’d wait to see if any other cat decided to tell a story, and maybe he’d have thought of a story by then. He thought of things he’d done that could be something worth telling. Suddenly, he thought of an idea. The light of the fire probably made him look quite frightening. What if he told a scary story?October 24, 2020 at 10:40 pm #8432LemonParticipant

He slowly made his way around the fire. There was another cat that he didn’t dare approach. His entire body was shaking, his white pelt fluffed up in fear. The cat didn’t seem too hostile, so he calmed down a bit. The white tom sat at the non-growing fire, letting it warm his fur. He wasn’t keen on starting a conversation with the stranger, but there was no point in being hostile either. He nodded at the stranger, letting the tom know he wasn’t hostile, before staring back into the flames, watching them flail through the air.

Snake nodded at the jumpy newcomer. He wondered when the other cats would approach the fire. He could feel their eyes pressing in on him. He looked around nervously, expecting to see their eyes reflected in the fire. There was only darkness in between surrounding the fire. He shivered and turned to the newcomer. “Hey, do you have any idea where we are, or how we got here?” He looked around again. “And do you have any idea what that crazy cat was rambling on about?” he paused, then raised his voice. “Well, if the reason we were brought here was to tell each other stories, I have a story I could tell.” He sat down, curling his tail around his paws, and looked at the other cat. He wondered if this cat would have a story to tell, and if so, what kind.
