    Bonepaw

    Apprentice of ThunderClan

Excited was and understatement of what he was feeling right now, his paws felt numb from the buzz going through him as his tall but chunky form quickly strutted from the ThunderClan camp. Long white and ivory stained tail was held up high above his haunches as he lifted his muzzle and sniffed at the air around the two of them. From what he could tell there wouldn’t be any rain for them in the future, the trees swayed from the wild wind that was crashing into the towering trunks, causing the wood to creak slightly from the resistance. But for now, Bonepaw didn’t care about the wind as his yellow eyes rounded in order to find the speckled pelt of his mentor, a goofy half grin finding its way onto his maw, “So what are we doing today?” He questioned, slowing his pace so that he was now walking just a little in front of Cinderfern.

Things within the clan had been hectic as of late with the mysterious black liquid that was making countless of ThunderClan cats sick, while also killing the unfortunate. Wildstar had been reluctant to let her children leave the confinement of camp, but keeping them from the dangers of the real world wouldn’t help prepare them and she knew it. Hollypaw had been his training partner when it came to pairs, she was kind but also pointed out every little thing that he did wrong… which seemed to be a lot.  Although, he wouldn’t allow himself to be dragged into those meaningless thoughts, he wasn’t horrible, just needed to practice in order to perfect his movements and improve his stealth. “Are we going to the ShadowClan border? Hollypaw told me that her mentor took her there three days ago and she saw a lizard!” He exclaimed out of excitement, stepping over a tuned over stone before giving his whiskers a twitch and looking back at Cinderfern. “Maybe the forgotten willow?” He asked with a pleading smile, the forgotten willow was a tree that had fallen over the raging rapids with its roots half out of the earth.

    ~Cinderfern~

Cinderfern padded along with Bonepaw, listening to him babble on and on, much like that of a brook – just gushing with a never ending flow of surging energy. The gray she-cat kept her ears perked up, as she honed in on all different sounds. Aside from Bonepaw’s constant mewling running about within her ears, she could hear the calls of birds far off, the chittering of bugs, the rustling of prey scampering off in alarm because of Bonepaw’s plethora of inquiries.

Amusement as warm as the sun washed over her, she was lucky to have such an inquisitive apprentice, she would mold him into a proper warrior yet. Bonepaw was already brimming with endless potential and Cinderfern couldn’t wait to see where her guidance ended up taking him. Would he be one of the strongest warriors Thunderclan had ever seen? Or their most proficient hunter? Perhaps, just maybe if they were both lucky enough – he’d become a mixture of both – a beautiful and unmatched balance between.

“We shall first be going to the Forgotten Willow,” Cinderfern confirmed, as she fell into place besides Bonepaw. “It would do you well to observe the rapids, so you learn to respect them and know how dangerous they can become.”

    Bonepaw

    Apprentice of ThunderClan

Cinderfern appeared to be more thoughtful than he really thought, she was taking this training seriously. Although he would have to control his facial expression, Bonepaw didn’t want her to see his slight disappointment. He wanted to see a lizard too. Nodding, the tall and slimming young tomcat walked beside his mentor while his eyes slowly roamed along the oak forest, licking his lips hesitantly. “Rapids?” He asked curiously, now that she had brought it up, he had heard of the rapids once or twice. Merciless strong currents to beat and crashed against the stones, carrying those who fall in, away swiftly. RiverClanners were known to conquer and develop methods to survive within the rapids. He couldn’t help but grow increasingly curious.

Chin tilted as his pointed ears suddenly peeled up at the sound of a faint roar, yellow eyes peering through the forest while he breathed in the scents around him. He couldn’t smell anything odd but he certainly could hear it. “Is that… the rapids?” Bonepaw asked curiously, looking up at his mentor as she confirmed his suspicions. Quickening his pace, the sound of the rapids was getting louder and louder, his long tail streaming behind him as he rushed to the tree line. “Woah.” Eyes rounded like marbles as he gaze upon the rushing rapids, the spray of the river landing upon the ridge line, moistening the dirt as he waited for Cinderfern. Somehow.. this intimidated him. The roar of the rapids was almost so deafening that he could barely hear Cinderfern, taking a step closer to hear her words of caution. All he could think about was how on earth the RiverClanners managed the rapids.. it had to be a lie. Spiderpaw must’ve been yanking on his tail while telling this tale.
