Firestar ~Skyclan Leader
An annoyed sigh escapes his lips as he remains where he stood. The Shadowclan patrol had long been gone by now, but Firestar couldn’t get what occurred out of his head. He was angry; angry that Hornetstar would demand them to risk their lives in a war that had nothing to do with them! The one time he tries to be a reasonable leader, to use his head and not his claws, he yet again seems like the bad guy. Huffing as he rolls his eyes at the thought. He meant what he said to Hornet; he was not Blazestar.
Finally moving, his muscles aching from remaining still for too long. Tensions were still high within camp, once glance around him told him all he needed to know. Many were angry at the disrespect Shadowclan showed by prowling into their camp without invitation, yet many were also scared and nervous at the battle of wits between the two leaders. Shaking his head as he was getting tired and fed up with Shadowclan all together. Turning toward Rookfall, who remained not far from him. Giving a strained smile before muttering; “I think it’s time for a clan meeting” Firestar grunts before making his way towards the large oak tree.
Unsheathing his claws, raking them along the rough bark. Once his claws hook into the meat of the trunk, the large tom swiftly pulls himself upwards as he begins to climb. A frown permanently painted on his masculine features, eyes narrowed into slits, showing his anger and irritation on what had transpired hours ago. Clicking his tongue against his hard palate as he heaved himself onto the large branch. Stalking forward, inches away from the ledge, his hard gaze flickering over the many felines that still lingers around camp. “All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here, beneath the tall tree for a clan meeting!” His smooth voice echos easily throughout Skyclan Camp.
Settling down on his hindquarters, the tip of his two-toned fiery and sandstone ginger tail flicking sharply. His jaw clenching as he waits impatiently for his clan to gather around him. Firestar was not happy, yet he knew better than to assume that his clan mates felt the same towards how Hornetstar treats them. He truly felt like he had a hornet in his side.February 15, 2020 at 12:44 pm #5124FearedParticipant
Darkbird ~ SkyClan Warrior
He had been in the process of explaining to Lostpaw the routine that apprentices usually went through for their training, ears perking upright when he caught the loud and deep sound of Firestar’s voice ringing out through the camp. Grunting faintly for a moment as he watched the large ginger tabby taking his place within the tree. Hard to believe that tree holds his rump. He thought to himself with a small smirk, golden colored eyes landing upon Lostpaw as he gave her a small smile and lowered his head to gently nudge her shoulder. “Come. Firestar has called for a clan meeting, we shall see what the brute has to say.” He muttered softly as he turned to join the other cats that were beginning to flock into the center of camp. Grunting faintly for a moment as he gave a small wiggle of his nose, catching a flash of white from the side of his gaze caught his attention, chin immediately tilting as his gaze landed upon Snowyowl. It always was a sad thrill to see his only kit, even though they looked nothing alike, her golden eyes and her sweet soul seemed to be all that she inherited from him. Her coat and body build being that of her mothers, even though she wasn’t nearly as cruel as Birchberry. Slowly he released a small sigh before he looked away from his daughter, the molly had no clue she was remotely related to him and that had been her mothers fault. So why keep the secret? Giving a small shake of his head, he looked towards Lostpaw and gave a small nod.
“This is where we will meet for clan meetings and such, where the big brute up there will speak.” He whispered softly to his apprentice, even though his golden eyes were trained on Firestar he was well aware that Rookfall was nearby. Clearing his throat he slowly allowed himself to look away from the feline perched in the tree to find the black and white pelt of Rookfall, eyeing his handsome facial expression for a moment. Always so stoic. He thought silently to himself, before he forcefully tore his gaze away from the tomcat in order to look down at Lostpaw.February 17, 2020 at 1:07 am #5185turnipParticipant
Applepaw 🍎 Skyclan
It was about time those stinking Shadowclan cats left! It was difficult enough putting up with them on the journey through the mountains, when Applepaw was newly apprenticed. They really rubbed off on her the wrong way, especially their jerk of a leader, Hornetstar. Though she hadn’t caught the confrontation, much of the camp was abuzz since the Shadowclan patrol left. Luckily she hadn’t laid eyes on his mean mug again or she would’ve been itching to teach him a thing or two about Skyclan’s fierce warrior heritage. How dare he speak of anyone – especially Firestar – as dishonorable when that foxdung waltzes into her camp with so little respect? All to ask that Skyclan fights for him?! Just catching the musk of that marsh dwelling clan made her pelt prickle. Just a fiery colored pinecone of an apprentice in the camp now.
Her tufted ears perked at the call of her new leader, Firestar. A clan meeting! She glanced down at where her paws had been kneading into her bedding, moss now strewn about messily. Applepaw hurried to smash the wad back together then bounded out of the den. Looking for a spot below the oak tree (preferably one with the best view of the action), she noticed a newcomer. Oh right, there’s a new apprentice! A former kittypet, as rumor would have it. What was their name again? She peeked around Darkbird at the young molly, noticing a lost leg. Oh right, Firestar gave her the name Lostpaw… Peculiar. Applepaw told herself to find the apprentice again later before turning to sit.
Her eyes found Skyclan’s leader perched in the old oak. He looked really, as if he were to burst into flame at any moment. She wondered what he had to share with Skyclan. Would they discuss a plan of action? Were they going to join with Shadowclan and Riverclan? Would they take Thunderclan’s side, to aide against Hornetstar? Or is Firestar sticking to his neutral stance? Oh this was all too much to bear! Her round paws shuffled on the earth, thick pluming tail twitching at her side.February 17, 2020 at 2:10 am #5188SoliloquySilverParticipant
Lostpaw had been curious about the strange cats that had come waltzing into the camp. In the few days she had been there, everyone she interacted with failed to mention that there were other clans. Just her luck that she got stuck with Firestar. ‘Speak of the devil…’ She thought, whiskers twitching in annoyance as the mean old tomcat’s voice thundered through the clearing. Unless he was changing the tasteless name he had given her, she didn’t give two pebbles about what he had to say. Nonetheless, she followed Darkbird out of respect for him as her teacher, not for Firestar. She sat quietly beside her mentor, eyes trained on a small bug crawling around near her feet. The little creature was much more interesting than the orange brute that sat up in the tree above her. Part of her even hoped that the branch would break because of his weight, a sentiment that even Darkbird seemed to share.
The black and white she-cat sighed, feathery tail flicking about along the ground as she waited for Firestar to speak. The sooner he started talking, the sooner he would be finished, and the sooner she could go about her day. All this talk of fighting and choosing sides was making her nervous, as if she hadn’t been already. She had been on edge since the very moment she was dragged into this whole clan mess. She turned her head to look at Darkbird, making the move just in time to catch a little ginger she-cat peeking at her from around the big tom. Typically she would be annoyed, but she could tell that Applepaw was younger, and she couldn’t blame a young cat for being curious. It was at that moment she found herself pondering something.
“Why did he give me ‘paw’?” She asked in a hushed tone, leaning towards Darkbird so only he could hear. “All the other cats with that name are practically kittens. Do I look like a kitten?” she looked up at him with a furrowed brow, whiskers twitching once again. Perhaps Firestar had done it to further embarrass her in front of everyone, perhaps he genuinely thought she was a kitten. He didn’t ask how old she was, so it was a possibility, she supposed. Still, it bothered her.February 17, 2020 at 11:17 am #5193FearedParticipant
Darkbird ~ SkyClan Warrior
There was so much that he had yet to teach Lostpaw, just recently they had gone over the different Clans that resided in the area, she had seemed less than pleased to have thought her fate would have been any different. Possibly in ThunderClan and RiverClan, Hollystar and Wisteriastar were usually more friendly and caring than Firestar. However, if she had been founded by ShadowClan, HornetStar would have provided the same hostility and possibly would have given her the same name. The two leaders were more alike than they realized. He was muttering under his breath, golden eyes not really looking at anything, perhaps the few branches below Firestar as the rest of the clan was still assembling for the meeting. DarkBird hadn’t noticed that Applepaw was peering around him in order to get a better glance of Lostpaw, his long tail swaying out behind him for a moment before he heard the hushed tone of Lostpaw as she leaned in. Slowly he breathed out of his nose and looked down towards the sour expression of his apprentice, she hadn’t been in the best of moods since joining, but he could only keep up his calm and patient exterior for so long.
”No, you do not look like a kitten.” He started to say, although he found himself rather amused by her sour expression, lowering his head for a moment as he whispered back in her ear. “Even though you aren’t a kitten, you do not know the rules of the forest yet in order to be called a warrior. Therefore you are an apprentice, Hint the paw at the end of your name.” He explained, his long tail snapping to gently brush over her muzzle. “Once you earn your Warrior name then you will have a warrior ceremony, you’ll move your nest to the warriors den, and you’ll have warrior duties to uphold.” He explained, only then noticing the ginger patch of fur that was sitting next to him, listening rather eagerly. “Hello, Applepaw.” He smiled as he greeted the young she-cat, looking towards Lostpaw he gave her a small wink. “This here is my apprentice, Lostpaw. Lostpaw this is Applepaw, a fellow apprentice.” He introduces the two felines, Lostpaw needed friends and if they happened to be younger than her, then so be it.February 17, 2020 at 9:18 pm #5195
Firestar ~Skyclan Leader
His eyes narrowing in concentration as he watches his clan slowly but surely gather around at the base of the oak. Faint chattering could be heard all the way from his high perch, his clan still going off on adrenaline from the encounter with Hornetstar and his lackeys. Tensing up as he thinks over what happened not too long ago. ‘Why does this have to happen now? I can’t believe he just walked in here and demanded that I no…we join him with Riverclan’ he fumed silently. His tail twitching in anger before rising fully along the branch. “I am sure many of you know why I have summoned a clan meeting” his voice echos clearly, though there was a dip in his tone that showed his agitation.
“It would seem that Shadowclan believes that they can just demand whatever they want” he muses as he eyes the snow glistening in the dying light. “I don’t know about all of you; but I am sick and tired of the other clans under estimating us” he starts, pausing as his ember eyes locking on the forms below. Firestar wished he knew how they truly felt, were they as angry as he was? Or did they simply not care? That was the worst part about being a leader; it’s not just about his feelings anymore. Firestar couldn’t help but let his feelings and emotions transpire as he spoke. His facial expressions hardening as he spits out the next part; “Hornetstar has gone too far with his demands. How dare he bring up the fact that we were in need for his help and he has gall to say that we owe him!” He hisses out with a sharp shake of his cranium.
By now he was pacing about on the branch; “Why should we submit to him when we had only came to him when we were in need?” He wondered, though he wasn’t necessarily asking his clan but more so thinking out loud. “What do all of you think of this? What do you all believe we should do?” He finally asks. Firestar knew what he wanted; he wanted to teach Shadowclan that Skyclan wouldn’t bend the knee to those who didn’t deserve it. Skyclan would not be looked down upon anymore; not while he was leader. He just wanted to know if his clan agreed with him; would they stand beside him to get rid of the growing problem of Shadowclan? Or were they willing to submit to those that shouldn’t control them?February 18, 2020 at 3:02 am #5199turnipParticipant
Applepaw 🍎 Skyclan
The clearing begins to fill with fellow clan-mates, pouring in from the dens and crowding under the oak tree. Applepaw wondered if they all had the same questions on their minds. What would Firestar do? What will we do? She leaned forward a bit, trying to catch a glimpse of the faces around her. Her clan-mates were perhaps a little better at hiding how they felt than herself. Sitting around made her paws itch, too ready for action!
Hearing her name, she quickly whipped around with wide, warm green eyes. “Oh, hello!” she chirped to Darkbird. Probably a little too loudly but that was the least of her concern. She followed his eyes to the newcomer she had scoped out just moments before. “Lostpaw,” she pronounced with a tilt of her head, juggling the name in her brain. It felt a little odd on her tongue but Applepaw pushed the thought aside, greeting the other apprentice with a smile. “Welcome to Skyclan, Lostpaw. You couldn’t have landed in a better clan–“ She spoke with utmost pride but was cut-off by their leader’s voice ringing out loud and clear. Lowering to a whisper, she said, “Maybe later I can show you some cool moves!” Applepaw hurried to her mentor’s side, the ginger molly sitting right by Snowyowl.
The energy surging from Firestar was intense. She felt the fury mirrored her own, absolutely absorbed by his every word. Applepaw felt angry with him. She was tired of Skyclan being treated as lesser as well! How dare they! We are not Hornetstar’s warriors and will not obey him! She couldn’t help but bristle, cinnamon stripes rippling on her pelt. Firestar’s question did not fall on deaf ears and she didn’t wait for anyone else to answer. “No! We shouldn’t join Shadowclan!” Applepaw half meowed, half growled.February 22, 2020 at 8:14 pm #5238
Firestar ~Skyclan Leader
His ears perking up as he could sense the rising anger within his clan. It would seem that quite a few agrees with him that Shadowclan was wanting too much. His features turning cold, his anger simmering within him as he continues on with his little speech to his clan. “Shadowclan has given us a message. Hornetstar believes he can take whatever he wants. Well we will send him a message” he announces. His voice remains smooth and firm, but deep within he wasn’t sure about his decision.
Firestar also has his own personal reasons for wanting to put Hornetstar in his place. Fire has nothing against Shadowclan as a whole, just their leader. A quiet snort escapes him as he thought for a moment that he was certain that many felines within the other clans hated his guts. Not that he particularly cared if they did, to him all he cared about was his clan and family.
Family. Now that was a touchy and complicated topic for the long-haired fiery Maine Coon. He was glad that he was far above, with the snow covered bare branches, enjoying the fact that no one would be able to see the inner turmoil within him. No one but Honeysplash knew what was probably going through his head, even if that. The two brothers have been distant ever since the reveal of their half-brother.
Foxnose. Another reason for him being hesitant in agreeing to fight alongside Shadowclan and Riverclan against Thunder. Normally; he would give two shits about Thunderclan, and would love to have any reason to fight Kass once more, but knowing that he has a half brother out there living in another clan that everyone seems out to get…It just didn’t sit well for him. He hated how Hornetstar was breathing down his neck, demanding for a promise that he never made be for-filled. How dare he expect him to allow his clan to blindly follow to bend the knee for him. For what? Just so Shadowclan can for fill their debt for relying on Riverclan far longer than they needed to?
No! Firestar is leader now; he needed to show his clan that they would not allow others to walk over them. It was their turn to send a message to Hornetstar. All he needed to do was talk to his deputy; Rookfall. Huffing quietly as he slides down the oak tree. His sharp talon like claws digging into the meaty bark before his hind legs touch the ground.“I believe we have had enough excitement for one day. Return to your duties” he concludes, eyeing his clan as they slowly trickle away from surrounding the big oak tree. “Ah but I need a word with you” he called out to Rookfall, his cranium gesturing him to follow him to somewhere a little more private.
Firestar had a plan; a mission, but needed only those he could trust. Rookfall was one of those felines.
