The warm summer breeze weaved it’s path through the golden-lit strands of field grass, illuminated by the bright hot sun. The skies were clear and nature proved to be alive. A hawk soared high in the endless sky and the little bugs were leaping and flying in all directions. The butterflies were looking as if they were silently playing tag and somewhere, field mice were scurrying around within the hills. Bouncyheart approached the border of the rolling moors and closed her eyes, taking in the warm Greenleaf sun, the wind gently stroking her cream pelt. Bouncyheart didn’t mind hunting on her own. She knew the fresh-kill pile was depleting and thought better than to lay around in camp. The she-cat opened her eyes and gazed around with her bright green  orbs before stepping forward. She braided her way through the long grass until she found a comfortable spot several tail-lengths away from where the approached. Bouncyheart crouched low. She flicked her tail as she waited patient. Patience was the key, her former mentor, Bearheart, had informed her. She peered through the long grass. Her ears twitched with every little sound. After moments of absorbing nature’s lullabies, she caught a familiar scent. Bouncyheart slowly stood up and quietly prowled forward, weaving her way through the long grass. The scent was getting strong. She heard an abnormal rustling sound that was easy to differentiate from the wind stirring around the field. The cream she-cat halted and instantly dropped to the ground  by instinct. She quietly pulled herself closer, ensuring her body wasn’t making any alerting sounds. She stopped. She could faintly make out a moving figure.. it was brown.. lanky.. The figure shifted and its big black eyes visible. A hare!  Bouncyheart stayed still.. had it seen her? The wild hare stood up on its back legs, periscoping it’s surroundings before going back down to all fours. It turned its back to the WindClan warrior. Now is my chance! she stepped one more paw step forward before returning back to her crouch. She knew she had to act quick before the hare relocated itself. She tensed her body, wriggled her hind a few times before making the official pounce. The warrior unsheathed her claws as she lunged forward. The hare darted away but the she-cat was faster. She landed on top of the body and pinned it down as it wiggled and frantically tried to escape. As it’s big hind legs kicked up at her in fear, Bouncyheart winced as she strained her neck down to bite the throat of the screaming hare. It’s lifeless body laid in her paws. Bouncyheart flicked her tail once before standing up on her paws. She reached down and grabbed the hare in her jaws and turned around, trotting back the way she came. She maneuvered her way throw the moors and headed back to the WindClan camp to present the fresh-kill to her Clanmates. She left the area, and nature returned to its usual routine.
