She chuckled in amusement, Honeysplash’s facial expression was priceless from where he had appeared disgusted at the thought of FireBird and Saffrongaze whispering ‘sweet nothings’ to one another. Still grinning she walked towards FireBird, chin tilting slightly when the large Tom announced that he wanted them to split up in order to cover more ground. Oh? She thought silently, taking one side glance towards Honeysplash for a brief moment watching the handsome tomcat move away to where he was walking in the opposite direction of which she would then have to take. Turning on her paws, the white furred molly started to walk in the opposite direction, her paw steps almost silent on the forest floor. Pupils narrowing slightly as she breathed in the many scents around her, the scents of her comrades tickled her scent glands but so did the smells of the forest. Moss, the musk of the trees, mouth watering smells of the various species of prey that hid about the forest and the rocky cliffs. “Mmm.” She hummed softly, yellow eyes slowly looking around her surroundings, eyes searching for anything that seemed out of place.
Ears twitching slightly as a howl soon echoed around the hollow trees. FireBird? Firebird? Saffrongaze’s voice echoed, causing SnowyOwl to pause in mid-step, the fur along her spine starting to rise before she turned her chin towards that of the direction of where she had left the patrol, pupils narrowing slightly. Saffrongaze sounded panicked.. and that alone caused SnowyOwl to head back towards the patrol, her pace quickened with anxiety chewing at her stomach. What could have been wrong? Hurrying through the undergrowth of the forest, SnowyOwl could just barely see The ginger and peach colored pelts of Saffrongaze and FireBird.. they appeared fine. “Is everything okay?” The molly questioned, yellow eyes flickering around as she noticed that Honeysplash wasn’t around, anxiety chewing at her stomach once more as she suddenly became worried that Saffrongaze was yelling because of the already injured Tom. Although; she didn’t voice this concern.

Rolling his amber eyes in faux annoyance at his younger brother’s antics. Shooting Honeysplash a half-felt glare as he felt his tail hit his haunches while declaring how he felt out going their separate ways. “Always the one for dramatics” he teased with a small grin before turning away to continue on his own way to check the border. Long paper thin ears with tuffs of hair on the tips twitch as he listens to his surroundings as he ventures further. The birch trees canopying around him, blocking little light from filtering through to guide his way. Parting his lips, allowing many scents to rush into his mouth. Humming in thought as noting seemed completely out of the ordinary, the borders remained strong but something in his gut told him something was amiss. Looking down at the earth below him as if something would come to him by staring at the ground long enough. Believing maybe his hunch was incorrect, the Maine Coon turns away from the edge of the border — shifting his frame to continue heading along when something halted him in his tracks.
‘Saffrongaze’ he thought, a chill running down his spine at the sound of her frightened voice calling out his name in panic. Blinking away the initial shock as his frozen body started to move once more. Shaking his large cranium as he dashes off in the direction of Saffrongaze. His ears twitching, nostrils flaring as he takes in her scent as he runs after her. Wondering what was the cause of such panic caused him to put more force in his stride. Ignoring the low-barring branches clipping into him, causing a few scratches here and there as he breaks into the small clearing they had separated from. Looking around quickly as he had sensed she was nearby. Hearing a twig snap towards the left to reveal a disheveled peach Scottie stumbling into the small clearing. Quickly making his way to the She-Cat, glancing over her form to see if she had been injured in any way. Not seeing anything serious, his amber eyes locked on hers to notice that she was hyperventilating from having a panic attack.
His usually cold features softened in worry as he leans closer to Saffrongaze, whispering into her ear. “It’s okay Saffrongaze. You need to calm down. Listen to the sound of my voice. Only the sound of my voice” he mutters, his voice soft and smooth as he tried to remain calm himself. “Take deep breaths; in and out. Follow along with me” he instructed as he took a deep breath in, holding it for a beat before releasing. Firebird calmly and patiently continued the deep breathing for the molly to copy. Turning his head in Snowyowl’s direction as he heard her questioning what was going on. Not fully knowing himself caused him to worry even more as he looks back at the anxiety stricken feline. Clearing his throat as he calls over to the pure white she-cat, “Something has Saffrongaze spooked. I want you to meet up with Honeysplash, stick together and remain in high alert. We shall meet up with you both when she becomes stable” Firebird demanded, taking a quick look around for his brother. Frowning at no sight of him, yet now was not the time to worry. He already had too much on his plate, he just had to hope that his brother would be able to handle himself with wound and all.July 15, 2019 at 8:36 pm #2429SaffieParticipant
Trembling all the way down to her toes, the peach Scottie found herself staring off into the ground as tears wield in her eyes. She was terrified of the canine, she was attacked by one when she was a kit. She felt alone, vulnerable for the time her patrol group wasn’t with her. Her ears and back arched at the noise of frantic paw steps, calming down once she realized it was Snowyowl, Firebird not coming that far after her. She exhaled in relief but her breath shuddered and shook, her claws digging into the earth. Firebird pressed himself against her frazzled fur and she began to feel safe, her head pressing against his fur, she inhales his scent. She whimpered shakily as tears fell down her cheeks but she had to pull herself together. She looked toward the snow white she-cat, Honeysplash wasn’t accounted for. Her fears washed over her like an intense tidal wave. The print seemed to be somewhat new, had to have been less than a moon old. She lifted her paw and placed it on Firebird’s chest. She listened to the firey tom’s instruction, going step by step until her trembling lessened. She had to show him what she saw, why she needed him.
Shaking her head a tad and as Snowyowl ran to find Honeysplash, she got to her paws and beckoned Firebird to follow her. He needed to see it and Snowy needed to find Honeysplash and fast. With semi-fresh tracks in their territory, everyone here was in danger. Looking around with her Oceania eyes, she stopped at the print and pointed to it with her paw, saying one singular word:

“Ugh,” Honeysplash groaned softly, pausing to catch his breath. His bound sides made deep breathing difficult, and his laboured breaths caused his rib to throb. Huffing deeply, a familiar musky scent poured through his nostrils. His fur prickled, ‘What’s that smell..?’ The golden tom stooped low, grass prickling at his belly. Wide-eyed, he scented the air. ‘Fox!’ He thought, alarmed. ‘You know, I was joking about the whole fox thing. I need to find the others.’ His ears swiveled, hoping to locate the creature by sound. A nearby bush rustled softly, and he could see a glossy, black tipped nose poking out beneath its shade. The fox seemed to be half asleep, seeking refuge from the rising newleaf sun. ‘There it is, I need to find Firebird.’ As he prowled away his bindings snagged on a twig, snapping it in half. ‘Fox dung, come on!’ He snarled quietly to himself. The alerted fox’s ears pricked, and it trotted over to investigate. ‘Starclan, please!’ He plead silently, moving as quickly as he could. The inexperienced fox watched the tomcat before trotting after him, curious about the strange furry creature. Honeysplash quickly slipped beneath the gnarled roots of an oak tree and out through the other side, quietly pleading to Starclan he’d managed to slip away.July 15, 2019 at 11:22 pm #2437

Peering through the brush, she could just see FireBird and Saffrongaze leaning into one another, the molly frantic and the Tom trying to calm her down. Taking a worried step forward, her head lowered slightly as she tried to get a better look at Saffrongaze from where she was standing. Hesitating slightly when she heard the booming voice of FireBird as he called out to her, causing a furrow of her brow as she grew confused about what could have spooked the medicine cat so much. Clearly, FireBird didn’t have any idea just yet and he was wanting Saffrongaze to explain what her worries were. “What?” She questioned in a confused tone; but the volume of her voice wasn’t very loud as she didn’t mean to be heard. “Okay! I’ll go find Honeysplash!” She called out, hoping she could be heard before she turned her head, nose lifted as she breathed in the scents around, pupils narrowing as she caught the scent of warm honey and clover. “Honeysplash..” She whispered to herself, beginning to run in the direction of the scent.
“Honeysplash!” She called out, ears standing upright on her wedged cranium as she sought out to listen for his reply, she wasn’t sure what had Saffrongaze so wound up, but it made her worry for Honeysplash’s safety. Where is he..? She thought to herself when she didn’t hear a reply, was he even aware of what was going on? Grumbling to herself, eyebrows pulled together in confusion and worry as she silently walked through the undergrowth of the forest. The extra and long fur along her paws cushioned her pawsteps, allowing her to tread carefully. Right ear twitching when she caught the sound of a twig snapping, eyebrow rising slightly as she was instantly attracted to the sound. Was it Honeysplash or something else? Without another thought, the feline walked off the path and started to make her way down the slight incline, long white claws digging into the soft dirt beneath her to steady her body. What could he be doing down there? She thought to herself, he was a bit off coarse from the border.
Pink nostrils flaring as she breathed in the scents around her, fur rising along her spine as the musky scent of a predator reached her scent glands. The scent caused her to halt in her foot steps, looking around for a moment as she searched for the russet colored pelt of the Fox. Seeing nothing, she walked towards an old oak tree, however she had just missed seeing Honeysplash as he had slipped through the underbrush so he wouldn’t get caught by the fox. “Honeysplash?” She questioned, although her voice was soft and held caution. Head turning from side to side and she tried to spot the honey colored tomcat. “Honey-!“ SnowyOwl just rounded the large oak tree, yellow eyes widening as she came face to face with a young fox that was just as startled as she was. Oh dear StarClan.. SnowyOwl thought silently, yellow eyes staring into orange eyes.July 17, 2019 at 4:51 pm #2473
Honeysplash stooped low, feeling blades of grass prickle his belly. He smirked, ‘Looks like it didn’t follow me.’ The golden tom unsheathed his claws, breathing a sigh of relief. The fox must’ve been a juvenile, or not hungry. He slowly padded back towards the patrol, until a familiar voice greeted his ears. ‘SnowyOwl, what’s she doing?’ It sounded as if she were behind him, back towards the fox. His heart sank, ‘Snowy, please! Please don’t go that way!’ He silently plead for Starclan to save her as he pivoted, returning whence he came.
The golden tom slid beneath the gnarled roots of the oak once more. The fox was curiously scenting the air as SnowyOwl rounded the tree, nearly smacking into it. ‘Here we go,’ Honeysplash thought bitterly. ‘Time to get eaten by a fox, I suppose.’ He charged from his hiding spot as quickly as his injury would allow. The large tom smashed into the fox’s side, almost knocking it over. He quickly jumped back a few tail lengths, avoiding a panicked bite from the startled animal. He yowled loudly, fluffing every hair on his body. Although he couldn’t fight in his current state, he hoped that scaring the fox would be enough. “Go, get out of here you smelly piece of dung! The whole ‘getting eaten by a fox’ thing was a joke! Go back to two-leg place where you belong, filthy scavenger!” He yowled, feigning a couple paw swipes at the fox.July 17, 2019 at 5:32 pm #2475

Yellow eye’s stared into deep orange colored eyes as she came nose to nose with the young fox, it’s stench was clouding her scent glands, almost causing her to loose her breath. While she stared in horror, the fox stared at her in curiosity, almost as if it had never seen a creature like her. Snowy white fur started to rise along her spine, tail fluffing out from her panic as the fox suddenly leaned in to sniff at her. Oh.. this is how I die. She thought miserably to herself, paper thin ears laying flat against her cranium as she took a hesitant step back away from the fox. However, the fox only took a step forward, causing her breathing to speed up as she tried to remain calm and put some distance between her and the fox. Suddenly, a honey brown colored mass moved in from the side, her eyes barely catching what was to happen.
Honeysplash rammed into the fox’s side in a rough manner, both creatures stumbling away from SnowyOwl. Breathing roughly with her panic, the young molly turned her canary yellow colored eyes to look towards Honeysplash and the fox. The fox seemed startled and unsure of what was happening, it’s lips rising in a snarl as it looked towards Honeysplash. Blinking suddenly when the loud yowl from Honeysplash suddenly caught her attention, bringing her out of her startled state. Muscles tensing as she moved to rush to Honeysplash’s side; long white claws extending from their sheathes as she swiped at the fox, her white fur fluffed to make her appear larger than she really was. “What are you doing? You’ll injure yourself.” She growled through bared teeth, even though her eyes were on the fox, it was clear that she was speaking to Honeysplash. Lifting her head she let out a loud yowl, ears flat against her head as she yelled out for help. If Honeysplash had been in perfect physical health the two of them alone could have taken on the fox. But with his broken rib, she didn’t want to take the chance.July 17, 2019 at 6:51 pm #2476
Sighing with relief as he watches Snowyowl disappear further into the woods in search for Honeysplash. Turning his gaze back towards Saffrongaze as he felt her slowly start to settle from her panic attack. Watching her carefully, ears twitching as he wasn’t fully use to being so close to another feline when trying to console them. Clearing his throat as he shifted slightly away at the sudden touch of her paw on his chest before it seemed the Saffrongaze had gained enough composure to show him what had spooked her in the first place. Rising swiftly to his large paws as he quickly followed along with the scottie feline. His posture remained stiff as he continued to stay on high alert. Fiery ginger fur rising along his shoulders and spine as he eyes the fox paw print that’s been imbedded into the earth. “A fox indeed” he sighed in worry. Now believing that sending Honeysplash and Snowyowl off on their own wasn’t the best decision he has ever made. Silently cursing himself as he looks back at the Medicine Cat, giving her a small smile as if to reassure her, “I need you to stay here, while I go find Honeysplash and Snowyowl to make sure they are safe.” He commanded before pausing, “ If you spot the fox I want you to hide. You understand?” He firmly stated before bounding off in the direction Snowyowl had went moments prior.
Lips parted as he locks onto the white molly’s Scent, finding hers the easiest to track. Ducking and dodging low branches and logs with ease as he moved swiftly to make sure his fellow warriors were safe. Almost coming to a stop when the yowl of panic and help echoed in the air. Turning his cranium sharply in the direction, heart pounding as adrenaline coursed through his veins. Claws sinking into the soil as he makes a sharp turn in the direction. The musky scent of fox getting stronger and mixing with Honey’s and Snowy’s scents informed him that the fox had been found. Eyes narrowing at the scene before him as he barged through a few bushes to witness the young fox snap it’s jaws in Honeysplash’s direction. A cold glare forming on his handsome features as he rushes at the russet fox, using his weight to unsteady the creature before pivoting to the left. Rising his right forepaw, claws unsheathed as he roughly smacked the fox in the face, letting his black dagger-like claws to rake against it’s flesh. Backing up swiftly, fur bristling with rage, making the large Maine Coon seem even more menacing as he barred his fangs in warning.July 19, 2019 at 3:28 pm #2497
Honeysplash’s eyes narrowed, his frosty gaze monitoring the fox for any sudden movements. It seemed as if the creature were teetering between fighting or fleeing, its tail tucked between its legs. ‘Not quite the reaction I hoped for, from either of them,’ he grumbled, feeling his pelt heat with frustration. If he was larger and more aggressive, like his brother, the fox likely would’ve fled.
“I feel like my injury should be the least of your current concerns,” Honeysplash replied harshly to SnowyOwl. The she-cat’s yowl stung his ears and caused the fox to flinch. It snapped at the tabby tom as it circled around. “You practically ran face first into this fox,” he snapped, feeling his ears heating with anger. “You could probably be a little less scornful, and a little more supportive! After the jay birds, and now this I’m-” His speech was interrupted as a flash of russet fur caught his eye. For a brief moment he panicked, afraid another fox had appeared. But, to his bittersweet pleasure, it was Firebird. He silently swore, hoping his brother hadn’t overheard their conversation. “There you are! Kind of you to join us, I thought you’d wait until after the fox had eaten me,” Honeysplash chuckled, circling around to flank the fox. They’d need to scare it back towards the Twoleg’s homes, else it’d end up in another clan’s territory.July 19, 2019 at 5:34 pm #2499

Teeth bared, the young molly was Snarling towards the young fox to keep him from getting too close to her, white pelt fluffed up in order to make herself look larger than she really was. She blinked in surprise when Honeysplash snapped harshly towards her, yellow eyes flickering towards his face as she registered that he was indeed frustrated with himself for being injured, but honest… it got her blood boiling with anger. “I wouldn’t have to be concerned about your injuries if you hadn’t acted like an idiot and tried to kill the Jay bird. I for one wouldn’t have fallen out of tree. If you hadn’t gotten hurt, perhaps you would be of more use against this fox.” She snarled just as harshly, eyes flashing as her temper rose to the surface, claws still outstretched as she swiped her paw out to try and scratch the Fox’s muzzle as it snapped its jaws a little too close to Honeysplash, ears twitching as the tomcat continued to rant on, causing her to roll her eyes. A flash of dark ginger and a loud snarl alerted her to the arrival of FireBird.
Shifting slightly to where she was now standing to the left of FireBird while Honeysplash stood to his right, the three cats now circling and leading the fox in the direction of the two leg place with their Snarls and aggressive displays. She smirked slightly when she heard Honeysplash’s remark to his brother, allowing her chin to tilt ever so slightly. “Oh how bittersweet that would have been. Should have let the fox eat him.” She whispered softly under her breath, but it could possibly have been heard while she hissed and arched her back towards the fox when it took a step too close to her for comfort, however the fox quickly moved away from her, wide orange eyes looking back and forth between the large and scary cats and looking for a place to flee. Honeysplash was right, she had basically smacked faces with the fox, however she wouldn’t had done so if Honeysplash hadn’t traveled so far away from the patrol, nor had he come at all since he was injured.July 19, 2019 at 7:09 pm #2506
Tensions were high as the three felines grouped together, circling around the frightened Fox. The large ginger tom’s blazing amber eyes remaining on the unpredictable creature at all times, knowing full well that a cornered animal was certainly far more dangerous than any. His ears pinning back against his skull, spine arching, fur bristling as he hissed and took a step forward. His movements causing the young russet fox to stumble over its footing as it backs up, heading towards twoleg territory. They needed to get rid of the animal without any casualties, but at the rate of Snowyowl’s and Honeysplash’s bickering anything was possible. Clenching his jaw in frustration at their predicament, all he had wanted to do was have a simple morning patrol yet that never seems to be the case. Firebird had half a mind to blame Honeysplash for even mentioning about a fox eating him, so obviously it had to be his fault for jinxing this whole operation. A small smirk appearing at the corner of his lips as he listens to his brother’s words. Eyeing the honey colored tom in the corner of his eye as he mocked, “Yes, it would have been such a shame” he hummed sarcastically before focusing on his target once more.
“Honeysplash, I want you to herd the fox from the right and Snowyowl from the left. I will stay within it’s sight” he commanded. “Oh” he grunted as he gives both of his fellow warriors a pointed glare, “Save your arguments for after this is over” Firebird warned with annoyance. Even though he found their bickering amusing, they needed to learn when or when not to argue over petty things, and now was not the time. “Now remember, keep your distance but not enough to give it room to escape. I don’t want anyone getting hurt…more than some” Firebird muttered while eyeing his brother’s bandaged side for a brief moment.July 19, 2019 at 8:01 pm #2514
“Oh, tell me how you really feel!” Honeysplash snarled at SnowyOwl. Twice he’d leapt to her defense, helping her as a clanmate. If she didn’t appreciate his efforts, then so be it. The golden tom snorted, dismissing their argument as Firebird requested. His brother was right, they needed to focus on the imminent threat before them.
Herding the fox was no easy task. Fortunately, they were still close to the border. Together the three cats pushed it along, nipping or clawing as needed to motivate it onward. Luckily, it was an inexperienced juvenile who had little to no experience with cats, and rather than snapping back it cowered with fear.
As they pushed it past the border Honeysplash loosed a loud, angry snarl and charge the fox’s flank, giving it a hearty bite which sent it flying across the border in pain. He stepped back, tail lashing as his gaze fixed on both Firebird and SnowyOwl in turn, fire burning within his stomach. “If you think a broken rib will hold me back from serving my clanmates, you’re wrong,” he spat venomously. “Now, let’s go,” he growled. “I’m sure Saffrongaze is fretting over us.” He turned white tipped tail flicking with frustration as he headed back towards the medicine cat, staying a few fox lengths ahead of the others. He limped slightly, feeling the adrenaline ebbing and leaving his body sore and exhausted.July 19, 2019 at 8:17 pm #2516

She made a slight face when Honeysplash snarled in her direction, lips twitching as she wanted to retort but with Firebirds words, she kept her jaws shut and her brightly colored eyes on the fox in front of her. The older Tom was right.. she needed to concentrate. Pupils narrowing slightly as she helped her comrades with herding the fox in the correct direction, snapping her jaw and lashing out at the fox helped with scaring the young fox. Pupils narrowing slightly for a moment before the fox decided to take off in the direction they had planned for it to take. Fur beginning to settle down along her back for a moment before she looked towards Honeysplash as he started to speak. Clearly upset with both her and FireBird. She felt a twinge in her stomach at his words, making her feel guilty for snapping back at him. Although, he really shouldn’t have.. she was simply looking out for him since he was injured. “I’ll remember that.” She sighed softly, side glancing towards FireBird for a moment. “Sorry.. for my behavior.” She apologized to the large ginger tomcat, although she held her tongue when it came to Honeysplash. If he wanted to be rude and stubborn, then he could do so alone.
Clearing her throat, she started to walk after Honeysplash, although the two cats made sure they weren’t near one another as she followed his lead with narrowed pupils. Ear twitching slightly for a moment as she looked ahead and tried to spot the peach colored pelt of Saffrongaze, the cats were following the scent trail that FireBird had left. Her yellow eyes happened to spot the slight limp in Honeysplash’s step, although she refused to acknowledge it before she glanced towards Firebird, choosing her words carefully. “Do you.. think he will be able to walk on his own? He seems rather sore.” She whispered to the large cat, keeping her expression Stoney. “I’m not going to offer any help though, I don’t think he would appreciate it. I can help Saffrongaze though if you need to help him.” She added in a soft whisper, trying to keep from Honeysplash from hearing her as they hurried back to the medicine cat.July 19, 2019 at 10:35 pm #2519
Finally they were able to scare off the juvenile fox, causing the russet creature to scramble off in the direction of the twoleg homes. Nostrils flaring as he huffs out a deep breath, ignoring the musty scent that surrounded them. Ears twitching at the tone of Honeysplash’s voices. Frowning as he watched him stalk off to find Saffrongaze. Looking over at Snowyowl as he wonders what truly went on between them to cause his brother to now become in such a foul mood. The fiery Maine Coon had never questioned his duties as a warrior, he was just concerned for Honeysplash with his broken rib. Shaking his head in frustration at everything that has happened today, turning to look at Snowyowl as she apologizes to him for her behavior. Shoulders rolling in a shrugging motion as he gives her a tired smile, tired of the whole ordeal and keeping up his cold front. “It’s alright, just remember next time that maybe when fighting a fox isn’t the best time” he teased before following along as he decided to take the rear to make sure they were in the clear.
At the mention of his brother and him being sore caused him to watch Honeysplash and his movements. Seeing the stiffness in his posture, rolling his eyes as he knew that Honey would be too stubborn to take help from anyone. “I’ll keep an eye on him. Let’s just return to Saffrongaze” he sighed. Trenching on, following the others in front of him. Seeing certain landmarks that seemed vaguely familiar from when he bounded away from Saffrongaze to find his fellow warriors earlier. Lips parted as her scent began to get stronger as they approached the paw print that was shown to him not too long ago. Scanning around his surroundings, before spotting the peach Scottie where he left her. “No need to worry about the fox now. It has all been dealt with” he reassured as he eyes the felines around him, checking them for any serious injuries.July 25, 2019 at 6:08 pm #2650SaffieParticipant
The Scottie had sat down for a while and what seemed like moons, she stood and began to pace in place. She didn’t pace far from her seating place but enough to maintain mind calmness; like she had many left. A fox.. a real-life fox, right in their territory!
Ears flicking at some new pawprints, she stood in place, staring at the abyss until the pelts of her comrades appeared in one piece. ‘Oh thank Starclan!’ She thought, her fur flattening. Her tail swayed at the news of the fox being dealt with. She hoped they didn’t kill it but just scared it off. “Blessings upon us! Starclan has graced us with another day to live.” She purred, padding to her herbs and grabbing them in teeth. She’d assume everyone was ready to go home after this whole adventure. This was enough adventure for the patrol group.
