Faint sounds of birds chirping their morning song fluttered into the sleeping tom’s ears, causing the Maine Coon to stir from his sleeping slumber. Grumbling under his breath in distaste as all the fiery feline wanted to do was return to sleep, but duty calls and it wasn’t going to do itself. With minimal effort Firebird shifts his weight, putting his large paws underneath himself as he pulls his frame into a standing position. Sighing in relief as his tense muscles flex with the movement, rolling his broad shoulders as he shakes his bed-ridden pelt. His amber eyes giving a quick glance over of his pelt, licking a few places that he deemed needed fixing before making his way out of the warriors den. Silently maneuvering through the many sleeping felines, ears twitching as snores could be heard from multiple cats causing the tomcat to wrinkle his pale pink nose in distaste. Honeysplash better be up and ready. I don’t have time to deal with his complaints of it being early. He thought with a slight roll to his amber eyes. Squinting at the sudden shift in light of his surroundings as he enters the clearing.
Spotting a few early risers, giving subtle nods in their directions as he heads towards the entrance and exit of camp. Settling down on his hind quarters as he quietly awaits for the arrival of his patrol party, it was a small group for the morning patrol as tensions weren’t truly high with the other clans, yet patrols were still necessary in making sure Skyclan was safe. Firebird glances over towards the Medicine Cat den as he had been informed earlier yesterday that Saffrongaze would be accompanying them today to collect some much needed herbs to refill her dwindling stock. Tail flicking side to side as he continues to glance around, looking for familiar faces that would be joining him on the morning patrol.July 11, 2019 at 8:03 pm #2268
As the sun rose over the horizon at its own pace, a curly furred Peach Scottish fold finished her bindings on the warrior Honeysplash. She fretted a bunch; with a broken rib, she wasn’t sure what was going to happen but she swallowed her fear than dipped her head to the honeysuckle furred warrior. He was ready but was she..? If he got hurt more than what he did, it’d be her fault. Claws dug into the dirt before she shook her head and jogged to get her herb baskets. Clamping her jaw on the stick handle, she trotted after Honeysplash, unable to talk with this new accessory in her mouth. Seeing Firebird in the distance, she flicked her cotton tail in greetings. She decided to pull Firebird to the side, ask him to join the patrol for some herbs. She was running low on a few things. Usually, he’s on top of her herbs and remedies but with the Tribe claiming that they needed her, it scrambled her brain and threw her off her mood. She couldn’t even hear The Winds anymore.. they don’t speak to her. Shutting her eyes to cut off her train of thought and sat next to the tom, awaiting the other warriors for the dawn patrol.

Honeysplash grunted as Saffrongaze finished the bindings. “Snugger than a foxhole, and stronger than an aged oak,” he chuckled, observing as the medicine cat collected her things. He gave her an appreciative blink before standing, huffing with effort. “Thank you, Saffrongaze, it feels alright.” He slowly padded outside the medicine den, his side aching dully. ‘Here we go,’ he thought sullenly, seeing Firebird sitting towards the camp entrance. The golden tom casually walked over and plopped down beside him, stifling a grunt. “Good morning, brother,” he mewed, his attempt at being cheery failing miserably. His tail twitched restlessly beneath Firebird’s curious gaze. He avoided the tom’s gaze, instead searching the treetops for SnowyOwl’s strikingly white pelt. ‘She better come,’ he thought, feeling desperate. Firebird was a fine warrior, despite his teasing. Saffrongaze was also lovely, and her kind but stern attention made her an excellent companion. However, having both their attentions at the same time made the golden tom’s skin crawl. Perhaps her companionship would deflect some of their attention.July 11, 2019 at 11:10 pm #2278
Snowyowl ~ SkyClan Warrior
Soft morning songs were beginning to chime throughout the forest as the birds could sense that the early hours of the morning had finally arrived, the slender feline was perched within a tall oak tree, a few trees away from her favorite pine. She had slept a few hours but found that she had woken up a bit earlier than the rest of the gathering patrol, nothing like laying about in a tree gazing down at other to calm the nerves of the expected day. A soft sigh left her lips for a moment, she was dreading with having to put up with FireBird, the Tom was handsome but he sure was a brute. Nothing like his rather charming brother, however. Grunting slightly and shaking her head as she thought of Honeysplash, the tomcat had ‘blackmailed’ her into joining the patrol, simply because he didn’t want to deal with FireBird nagging at him throughout the duration of the patrol. “Yeah.. I’ll give you an earful.” She thought silently to herself, his handsome smolder had pulled her in and she was unsure how to get out of the situation. Paper-thin ears twitched slightly when she caught the sound of voices beneath her, glancing down she caught sight of FireBird and Saffrongaze greeting one another, while Honeysplash was tagging along. Here we go. SnowyOwl thought miserably to herself, standing up as she stretched out her slender figurine along the branch, before jumping down the few feet off the ground.
Gracefully landing on all four paws, she trotted towards the growing patrol, her soft white pelt sticking out like a sore thumb amongst the ginger and honey colored felines. “Good morning, FireBird.” She greeted the rather large Tom first, since he was leading the patrol she figured that would keep him from glaring at her if she had greeted him last. “Morning, Saffrongaze.” She smiled, soft pink nose twitching slightly when her canary yellow eyes flickered towards Honeysplash. “Morning, Honeysplash.” She greeted, although she had a slight smirk to her face, the Tom that had tricked her into joining the patrol. “How’re you feeling?” She asked pointedly outloud, moving towards him as she gave a gentle sniff to his side, although her eyes shone with mischief.July 12, 2019 at 12:08 am #2279
Unsheathing his claws, letting them slip into the soil as he mindlessly plays with the earth beneath him while awaiting for his fellow comrades. Firebird had actually been surprised when he was chosen to lead the morning patrol as he tended to be a silent follower, but not today, and with his younger brother being on patrol along side him he knew that he wouldn’t be getting a stress free morning nor a quiet one. His paper thin fiery ginger ears with tuffs of sandstone fur on the tips, perk up as he senses the approaching paw steps of Saffrongaze. Turning his cranium to look over at the Medicine Cat just in time to catch her tail flicking in greetings. A deep hum rumbles through his throat as he gives her a respectable nod before catching a certain someone trailing not far behind.
Blazing amber hues narrowing onto the honey colored tom, brows furrowing as he noticed instantly the slightest discomfort radiating from Honeysplash. Curiosity bubbling within the tomcat, yet decided not to voice his concern just yet. Arching a kitty brow as he gave Honeysplash an unamused look at his attempt in covering up whatever was truly going on. “Good morning Saffrongaze, and good morning brother” he greeted with a simple flick of his fluffed tail. “Now…I believe we are waiting on someone else…?” He inquired as he eyes his brother, noticing how awkward he looked while gazing up into the trees. Sighing through his nostrils as his impatience was wearing thin until a soft ‘thud’ met his ears over towards his right. Letting his gaze follow the sound, his eyes resting upon the last member of the patrol, Snowyowl.
Eying the white molly for a moment as she greeted him, giving her a small nod of greeting as he let her continue her ‘hellos’. Rising to his paws, vaguely paying attention to those around him until Snowyowl happens to mention to Honeysplash about how he was feeling, abruptly turning his attention to the conversation as he easily catches her eying and sniffing at his brother side that Firebird just so happened to now notice was bounded up. Frowning in irritation as he looks from Snowyowl towards Saffrongaze to his brother, “Why is my brother wounded and still going on patrol?” He demanded with a huff.July 12, 2019 at 3:56 pm #2285
Saffrongaze wasn’t sure how this was going to go but nonetheless, she was waiting to see how this day planned on going down. Shifting the stick in her mouth, when she got ‘good morning greets’, she placed the basket down to return a quiet but polite “good-morning, Firebird.” Her ear flicked once she heard the paw-steps of a Snowyowl head her way, slightly quirking an eyebrow. ‘Did she mention going on this patrol too? If she did, I missed it.’ She grumbled a tad. The morning sun was a beautiful thing to witness but Saffron was not a morning cat. Normally, she would be sleeping in, getting her snooze on but she needed herbs and the dawn patrol was the answer… for now.
Everything seemed to be going smoothly, Firebird hadn’t questioned the leaf bindings just yet. Tail looping, it lifted the basket so she could carry it via talk vs via mouth. She dipped her head to the snowy white she-cat and mewed a soft “Good morning, Snowyowl.”. She began to drift off into her mind as the three warriors conversed amongst themselves. Her eyes became clouded as her train of thought began in motion. Firebird’s demanding tone popped her thought bubble, her eyes widening and she looked up, breathing out a “Huh, wha-?” — ‘oh no.’ she thought before shaking her head and furrowing her eyebrows. She didn’t like having a tone raised toward her like she was some four-moon old kit. She snapped a glare at the firey tom. “So you wouldn’t have to nag like you are now. He didn’t want to stay cooped up in my den, he made it clear this patrol meant something to him.” She retorted with a snort. “He’s well enough to go on a patrol. But if a fight were to break out, he would need to stay back, get help from the clan. But fights rarely break out.” She assured, placing her tail tip on Firebird’s shoulder. “Your brother is a very hard working warrior. Maybe you should praise him more.” She suggested than turned to pad to the clan entrance.July 12, 2019 at 4:46 pm #2286
Honeysplash warily eyed SnowyOwl as she approached the patrol. ‘Oh Starclan, please,‘ he quietly plead as he detected the sassy edge upon her words. ‘You’re going to cause a scene, and none of us want that.‘ He began to interrupt her, but was too late. Firebird’s keen attention honed onto his injury. “Well, um-” He began to explain, but Saffrongaze’s sharpened tongue lashed the ginger tom’s ears. ‘Ouch, she’s really laying it on thick, isn’t she?‘ He mused, suppressing a chortle. It was true, the patrol was important. He didn’t enjoy staying in camp, and the medicine den panicked him. His ears turned red as the medicine cat indirectly complimented him. Firebird was equally as hardworking as himself, although his methods were different. He’d probably apologize to Firebird later, as her scorn might’ve gone a little too far against the ginger tom.
Clearing his throat, Honeysplash tired to change the subject. “How about we get going, I think fresh air would do all of us some good,” he mewed calmly. He took a few stiff pawsteps towards the camp entrance. Keeping up would be difficult, but he was confident he could at least trot along. He turned, expectantly waiting for Firebird to take the lead. They needed to get to business, before more of a scene was caused. He’d feel terrible if their squabble caught Blazestar’s attention.July 12, 2019 at 5:28 pm #2289
SnowyOwl ~ SkyClan Warrior
She would be lying if she didn’t say she was more than amused with the fact that FireBird had instantly honed in on his younger brother, his temper starting to rise as he instantly eyed Saffrongaze. However, the young molly wasn’t worried about the cream colored Scottie, she was more than capable of holding her own against the fire colored tomcat. Chin tilting slightly as she stood to the side, a mischievous smile laced along her pale lips. SnowyOwl wasn’t usually one to cause trouble but she did like to observe trouble, canary eyes flickering towards Honeysplash as he seemed awkward with the attention flashing on and off towards him. Serves him right.. forcing me on this awful patrol. She thought silently, allowing FireBird and Saffrongaze to walk past her. A soft sigh left her flared nostrils, eyes flickering over her shoulder blade for just a moment before she turned her head forward and started to follow the patrol out of the camps clearing.
Catching up with the other felines, the extra fur that coated her toes made her walk almost silent, the slight crunch of a leaf or a small noise of a pebble being flicked against stone. Although, she was usually careful, chin tilting as her eyes roamed around the forest. She started to walk past Honeysplash, a small smile on her lips as she leaned towards him, voice hushed. “That’s what you get for forcing me on this patrol.” The white feline smiled sweetly, batting her eyes in a playful manner before she quickened her pace so FireBird wouldn’t be upset with his brother speaking to her. Tail gently brushing over Honeysplash’s muzzle in a playful and slightly flirty way. Nose twitching as she took in the scents around her, nothing really standing out to her just yet.July 12, 2019 at 10:04 pm #2296
Firebird paused; his scowl freezing in surprise at Saffrongaze’s tone as she basically reprimanded him for his short fused attitude. A huff escaping his black lips as he pulled them tightly as he didn’t enjoy being scorned at. Closing his eyes as he knew that it was childish of him to lash out at the Medicine Cat with no real reason. Nostrils flaring as he takes a much needed breath, regaining his composure and reopening his amber eyes as he felt Saffrongaze lay her tail lightly against his shoulder. Tilting his wedged cranium as he takes in the molly as she spoke, giving her his undivided attention. Furrowing his brows as she mentioned that Honeysplash begged to get out of the medicine den and join the patrol. Looking over at his younger brother and shaking his head as he now knew the real reasoning of his much needed escape of the medicine den; mosspaw. “I’ll certainly take your words into account and I apologize for snapping” He begrudgingly mumbled to the peach Scottie. Clearing his throat as he nods in Honeysplash’s direction as he agreed with continuing with the patrol.
Muscles flexing underneath his thick fiery ginger and sandstone fur, his large paws pressing silently against the damp earth as he trekked forward towards the birch forest. His gaze flickering around his surroundings, taking in every little detail of the ashen bark to the leaves glistening in morning dew. Looking over his shoulder to make sure the others where following behind when he noticed something peculiar. It would seem that his brother and the young molly; Snowyowl were a lot closer than he had assumed. Smirking in amusement as he sensed that Snowyowl wasn’t completely happy with Honeysplash. With a small smirk still present he mutters to Saffrongaze, “How long has that been going on?” He questioned with an arched brow, discreetly flicking his fluffy tail in the two smitten felines’ directions.

With her back turned toward the leader of the patrol, she turned and nodded her head, her lips curling into a small smile. She could understand the anger; he probably worried about Honeysplash. Maybe even more than her!
As she pressed on walking ahead of the crowd and side by side with Firebird, nose close to the ground, her concentration train kept being cut by the two chatty cats behind her. Nonetheless, she was able to collect some spider web and comfrey, and even some more bindings to make more for the honeysuckle tom. Flicking her folded ears, she lifted her head so her Oceania eyes met Firebird’s amber stricken ones. Raising an eyebrow, she glanced back at Honey and Snowy chatting up a storm [but not too loud] before turning her attention back to the firey tom. She let out a small smile, her shoulders shrugging a tad. “A while? I’ve seen them hanging about for maybe a lil more than a moon? They seemed to be joined at the hip.” She purred, dipping her head. It wasn’t her business who liked who or if the relationship was complicated but if she could sense the love or if something sparked between two cats, it lifted her spirits. She could feel something between Snowyowl and Honeysplash, how Snowy stayed with Honey throughout the night and checking on him.
She sniffed the air and excused herself so she could collect more spiderwebs. “Perhaps you should ask them indivisually? If you ask together, they may deny it.” she added before disappearing behind some brush.July 14, 2019 at 5:40 pm #2394
Honeysplash padded along, feeling his muscles ache with each pawstep. ‘Just keep going,‘ he told himself quietly. ‘It might hurt, but it’s better than being stuck in camp.‘ His gaze roamed the birch canopy as they walked, wishing he could climb. Firebird’s mood seemed to have improved, and the ginger tom walked alongside the peach Scottie as they padded through the woods. It seemed as if today would be another uneventful, boring patrol. But perhaps that was for the best, as the golden tom couldn’t hunt or fight.
SnowyOwl prowled silently behind him, her stark-white fur sticking out among the fresh green undergrowth. Honeysplash glanced towards her as she approached his side, blue eyes widening as she playfully teased him. ‘Excuse me,‘ he thought, watching her pull ahead. ‘You can’t escape me that easily, even if I am crippled!‘ He quickened his pace to a lopsided trot, his ears still flushed from her touch. He flicked the snowy she-cat’s flank with his white tipped tail. “Well, I’m sorry that my company is so displeasing,” he mewed quietly with a wink. “Although, I appreciate you joining me. I believe your presence has saved me from the worst of their wrath,” his ears flicked towards Firebird and Saffrongaze, who seemed to be quietly conversing over something. “They’re being awfully quiet. I wonder what they’re talking about?” The golden tom frowned, his stomach prickling with concern. He watched as Saffrongaze quietly pushed through the undergrowth, presumably to gather more supplies.July 14, 2019 at 6:05 pm #2398
SnowyOwl ~ SkyClan Warrior
She smiled to herself, letting her chin tilt slightly while her striking yellow eyes flickered towards FireBird and Saffrongaze as they quietly whispered to one another. Head turning slightly as she tried to listen to what the other feline were saying before she heard the sound of paws swiftly hitting the ground behind of her, pointing to Honeysplash catching up with her. Feeling his tail tip flick against her flank, her slender cranium turned for her canary yellow colored eyes to rest along his handsome face, causing a smile of her own to find her pale lips when he spoke. “Well.. at least you said sorry.” She chuckled softly, the sound airy as she found his wink to be adorable and cheesy all the same. Eyes moving back to where she was now looking ahead of her, eye’s watching the two older felines before them. Her pace had slowed so that Honeysplash wasn’t pushing himself to stay with the group, he was wounded after all, no matter how stubborn he was.
Walking closely to Honeysplash, her white fur gently brushing against his honey colored fur every now and then. Whispering to one another meant that they had to be somewhat close right..? Sure. “Oh.. well I don’t think you are out of the woods yet. FireBird will try to corner you and get you to talk.” She whispered softly to him, her shoulder lightly touching his own shoulder, having to lift her chin in order to be heard, since he was taller than her. Giving him a playful wink of her own, she grinned and looked back ahead, noticing now that FireBird and Saffrongaze were looking back at them every now and then, pupils narrowing slightly as Honeysplash whispered his own curiosity about the two cats. “Perhaps they are declaring they love one another.” She smirked playfully, although it did appear that FireBird and Saffrongaze were rather interested in her and Honeysplash. “I’m not sure.. maybe they are discussing how you actually broke your rib.” She suggested, standing close to his form once more. Eyes following the peach colored molly of Saffrongaze a she started to roam away from the patrol, her pelt prickling.July 14, 2019 at 7:50 pm #2401
Turning his large cranium to watch the scottie molly start to disperse on her own path to find her much needed herbs to replenish her stock. Leaving the Maine Coon alone to his thoughts, he couldn’t say that he was surprised that his brother seemed close with Snowyowl as he had his suspicions that it was Honeysplash that invited her along. A small smirk appearing on his maw as he knew that his brother was avoiding him, not wanting to discuss the reasoning behind his injury. Firebird was patient, he could and would wait for the perfect moment to question him on what went down the night before. Whatever happened it would seem that Snowyowl was involved or at least witnessed the accident as she seemed well aware of his injuries. The fiery tom didn’t particularly care for his brother’s love life as he had watched his younger brother flirt with many other mollies before, he didn’t believe this time was much more different nor was it his business on Honeysplash’s love-life. Being the great older brother he is; of course wouldn’t stop him from teasing Honeysplash once he ever found out his flirtatious brother was settling down. Shaking his head, clearing his thoughts of matters of unimportance.
Now in this moment he needed to focus on his task, the patrol. Making sure all the borders were secure around Skyclan and nothing out of the ordinary were to disturb the clan. His long paper thin ears perk up as he listens to the faint echoes of birds singing to one another as he stalked forward, his amber eyes carefully watching his surroundings as they approached the border that split the clans of Skyclan and Shadowclan within the birch forest. “Okay now I want everyone to split up and make sure that our borders are still holding up strong. If you find anything out of the ordinary come find me” he announced, his voice deep and smooth as he looks over at the two fellow warriors with him. Firebird wasn’t going to go easy on Honeysplash, he wanted to go on this patrol and now he is here. “Saffrongaze, you can continue to search for your herbs, but inform me if you also notice anything a miss” he added as he glanced over in her direction, knowing that she could hear him even though she was already off in her own world, world full of herbs and healing.July 15, 2019 at 3:02 pm #2414
Unsheathing her claws, Saffrongaze dug into the earth. She could’ve sworn she caught the scent of some burdock root. Quirking an eyebrow, she trotted along the lines of the roots before the sound of Firebird’s command cut her off. She looked toward his voice, understanding the mission at hand then continued along with her own duties. It was strange to do this herb hunting alone… Usually, she would have someone with her, helping her out but with this whole Tribe nonsense, she’s been doing things alone. With all that, she finally found her root. Digging it up, she used her claws to cut bits and pieces off, even some large and decent sized ones. ‘Today was a good find, the herbs are so lively. She adored the New Leaf season. Winds passing through her fur, she shut her eyes for a moment to take it all in, sitting up straight.
After a few moments, she placed the burdock root within her basket then lifted the basket in her teeth. Looking down at the ground, she stopped and stared. Don’t tell me.. a fox’s print. She felt her fur stand and her heart drop to the center of the Earth. She had a very large fear of foxes. Saffron quickly looked around then her paws began to carry her on. She needed Firebird! “Firebird?? Firebird!” She called, placing her basket down in a safe place then frantically looked around for her patrol group. The panicked Scottie began to hyperventilate, her body quivered.July 15, 2019 at 4:56 pm #2417
Honeysplash’s fur prickled as SnowyOwl brushed lightly against him. “Uh,” he blinked, struggling to process her words given their proximity. “You know, I think I’d rather they talk about my rib than whisper sweet nothings to each other,” he murmured, feeling reviled at the thought. He knew Firebird didn’t have much of a love life, and doubted whether the ginger tom had a romantic bone within his body. Honeyplash’s ears pricked to attention as Firebird addressed them, frowning as he suggested they split up. ‘Either he’s taking this patrol quite seriously, or he’s trying to separate us,’ he thought quietly. “Alright, but if I get eaten by a fox I’ll be blaming it on you!” He chortled, giving his brother’s haunch a friendly tail flick as he walked by. He dove into the undergrowth, heading closer towards the border.
The golden tom opened his mouth, scenting the air. Everything seemed fine, and the previous patrol’s scent held strong. Clan tensions had been low for moons, but now it felt like everything was changing. They knew hardly anything about the Tribe, and it’d caused a buzz of curiosity and fear among the clan. His thoughts were interrupted by Saffrongaze’s yowl. ‘What in Staclan,’ he spun, side throbbing from the rapid movement. ‘Gah, careful now,’ he told himself before trotting back, hackles rising with concern.
