It had only been a day since Dreamfeather had properly met Eveningstorm and yet, she couldn’t stop thinking about it. About him. The way his eyes sparkled in amusement, the rumble of his voice… everything about him made her smile. However, this also had its downsides; downsides Softglow had warned her about. She was getting distracted in her duties, always just a little bit off; sometimes thinking of him and sometimes replaying the meeting in her mind. Of course, there had been the bad, such as Eveningstorm and Tinyflame getting into their argument, and the argument between herself and Softglow. But she and Softglow had made up and that was all she could hope for the other two companions as well.
The night was dark and the stars seemed to be hiding, slipping in and out from behind clouds as they looked down on the world. What little light was cast over the earth came from the moon whose glow reached down, illuminating the pelt of the ginger tabby that slipped gracefully through the woods. Her thick fur was fluffed up, though the night wasn’t cold. Nerves had begun to build in her stomach as she approached the border, little butterflies that flitted and soared in her belly. However, Dreamfeather also found excitement.
Softglow had only agreed to cover for her during the night, when patrols wouldn’t find her, and although there was no guarantee Eveningstorm would come, Dreamfeather had a feeling that she had to be here tonight. So she sat down, tail curling around her body as she began to groom herself, simply waiting as the moon trekked across the sky.July 14, 2019 at 5:28 pm #2393FearedParticipant
Eveningstorm ~ WindClan Warrior
The past day had been a rush of a nightmare, he had basically told TinyFlame to get lost, both of his younger half brothers had slipped out of camp and Startledpaw had fallen into the rapids, then.. then the patrol that had went to ThunderClan had returned and everyone found out that Wolfstar had lost two life’s due to this poisonous flower. Even through all of this.. Dreamfeather had been on his mind all night and Day. Chewing on the inside of his cheek for a moment, eyes flickering towards the moorland border that hugged the ThunderClan trees, a soft sigh leaving his pink nose as he continued to watch the borderline, deep amber eyes twinkling in mischief as he felt the deep and strong pull within his gut to visit the border at least once tonight without having another cat hovering over his shoulder blade and telling him how to life his life. Grunting slightly, his tongue scored over his dry lips, chin tilting slightly as his large and broad paws were tenderly stepping down into the soft earth below him, making sure to keep quiet as he got closer and closer to the tree line.
Dark brown tabby fur was ruffled slightly from where the tomcat was crouching down in the tall grass and reaching the bushes, he was a rather tall and broad feline, he did not want to be spotted getting too close in case of a sudden border patrol. The scent of lavender and moss suddenly graced his nose, eyes closing as he breathed in the delicate scent of Dreamfeather. He was heading in the wrong direction, head turning quickly as he allowed his nose to lead him in the direction of which the lovely she-cat was hiding. Slowly his big head peered around a thick trunk of a tree, eyes finding the gorgeous ginger tabby as she groomed at her luscious fur. His stomach was a tight mix of nerves and excitement when he caught sight of her, hesitant to move to greet her as he was greatly enjoying the show of seeing her comfortable. Slowly he slipped out from behind of the tree, trying to seem graceful as he gave her a charming smile. “Hey there.” His deep meowed boomed from his chest, pupils narrowing faintly for a moment before he started to move towards his, eyes sweeping along her form as the feeling of beetles crawling in his stomach got stronger. He was crossing the border now just to see her.September 4, 2019 at 10:11 am #2847Hareflight [Mel]Participant
Her tufted ears twitched at the sound of his voice and her green gaze immediately fixed upon the dark tabby, a smile splitting her maw. She wondered silently how long he’d been there, and then realized that she didn’t really care. He had come! It was a miracle in itself she got to see him again.
Without hesitation, Dreamfeather rose to her paws and padded straight to him, meeting him face to face. It was then that she realized just how close she was to the WindClan cat, and she took a step backwards, dipping her head in embarrassment. Her whiskers twitched and she glanced up at him once more. “Eveningstorm… I’m so glad you came. I wasn’t sure if you would, but then I got here and… Here you are.” Her grin grew, and with it, her feathery tail swayed in contentment. As her emerald eyes met his amber ones, she found herself resisting the urge to go and nuzzle up against Eveningstorm. You barely know this tom! Get a grip, Dream. She cleared her throat. “How… have you been?”
