You’re not doing anything wrong.
This is what Harepaw reminded herself for what had to be the millionth time as she approached ThunderClan’s camp. As a medicine cat apprentice she didn’t fall under the same limitations as warriors would, however, it was common knowledge that ShadowClan didn’t always carry the best name. A squirrel skittered up a tree, and the noise made the patched cat jump, her fur fluffing up in surprise. She took a deep breath, dual-coloured eyes fixing on her paws as she settled herself. Licking her chest fur a couple times to smooth it out, she sighed softly. “Borage leaves. Just ask for those, a-and you can be in and out.” Harepaw nodded slowly to herself, stepping into the camp.
Her and Saplingskies’ store of borage leaves was running low, and it grew well in the oak forests of ThunderClan. If it weren’t for ThunderClan’s plentiful supply, Harepaw probably would have avoided coming here. Communicating with those in her Clan could be hard enough, let alone those in another.
Ears flicking back, Harepaw took a few hesitant steps into the camp, eyes wide as she glanced around. “He-H-Hello? Um, I’m- I’m looking for Peachpaw?” Her voice came out more of a mumble as she glanced around in a desperate search for the medicine cat. Hesitantly, the she-cat took one more step so she wasn’t standing directly in the camp entrance, though her paws scuffled in the dirt beneath her paws.September 18, 2019 at 9:29 pm #2948PeachParticipant
Thunderclans Peachy Princess
The sudden stop of the hustle and bustle of the busy clan life snapped the She cat out of her funk. Her small round head peering out of her den entrance, wonder what’s all the commotion is about. It had been days since the apprentice left her den but the faint voice that spoke her name caused her to force her self out of the den, blue eyes squinting as she came in contact with the light.
Thunderclans older warriors, along with nosy apprentices father round the entrance, blocking the short felines sight. With a loud huff she shouldered her way through the crowd. The multi colored pelt of a familiar face greeted her eye line, “Harepaw?” Recognizing the cat as Shadowclans medicine cat in training Peachpaw dismissed the warriors with a simple cold glance. After the departcher of her clan mates her focus returned to her fellow healer in training, “Let’s talk inside my den.” Her voice was soft and her words slow, she knew Harepaw only from gatherings but knew she easily spooked.
Leading the She cat into her dwelling she settled herself down in front of her nest, paws tucked neatly under her large, fluffy character defining ginger tail, “What brings you here?” Peachpaw made sure to conduct herself in a professional manner for fear of gaining a bad reputation for Thunderclan.September 18, 2019 at 9:50 pm #2949Hareflight [Mel]Participant
Relief filled the smaller cat as the familiar ThunderClan cat emerged. She let out a breath, following Peachpaw quickly into the ThunderClan medicine den. She glanced around curiously as they entered, admiring the differences from her own den. Harepaw’s blue and orange gaze fixed on the other medicine cat, and she slowly sat, her stumpy tail wiggling slightly.
Harepaw was well aware that she needed to be professional for the sake of her Clan’s reputation, however, her stammering wasn’t something she could very well help, so she offered a smile and tried to force out her words. “Well- Our supply of bo-borage leaves is getting a bit low, and- and well, I figured that since you guys have su-such a- um, readily available supply, maybe I could get some… from you.” Her whiskers twitched as she glanced down at the floor, clearing her throat. “Of course, if- if you’re low, then that’s okay too…” Harepaw, shuffled her paws, smiling nervously at the ground.
It felt good, Harepaw realized, to talk to someone who didn’t really know her and all of the struggles that had gone on in ShadowClan. There was no prior judgement or pity. It was simple business, even if Harepaw wasn’t as good at the professional side of it.September 18, 2019 at 10:07 pm #2951PeachParticipant
Thunderclans Peachy Princess
Peachpaw couldn’t help but feel a little happy to have a visitor who wasn’t constantly asking ‘are you okay?’ treading around the emotional unstable She cat. Small, round ears perked forward listening patiently as the feline worked through her stuttering request. Borage leaves borage leaves, her den was in more of a disarray than normal as sorting had become less of a priority the past few days.
Her stumpy legs bounced around the herb storage, her blue orbs floating around seeking out the blue star shaped plant. The warriors and apprentice of Thunderclan had been very thoughtful during her time of need, bringing her any herbs they found during patrols but in made the den rather a mess and hard to find things in the piles they created. “sorry for the mess, the apprentices have been quite helpful in herb gathering but are rather quick to throw down the herbs and leave as soon as possible.” Peachpaw tried to keep small talk going as she pawed her way through a bunch of herbs.
“Ahhh here we go!” Gripping the plant between her small fangs she placed them gently in front of the anxious trainee, “Is everything okay in Shadowclan? Hopefully this will be enough.”
