Passing out was not like sleeping. Dreamfeather wasn’t sure what exactly she had been expecting – maybe dreams, maybe being able to hear those around her, maybe just anything other than the impenetrable darkness. It was a relief at first when she began to drift into consciousness and the noises and smells around her began to sneak in at the corners of her mind. She blinked her eyes slowly, blurred shapes shifting and moving in her vision, making her head swim. Gradually she became aware of the pain that burned in her body, and she tried to think back to what she could remember. A fight… A fight with who? There had been a tree, and… falling. Dreamfeather let out a grunt, shifting slightly. So, she had fallen out of a tree. Fantastic.

Her vision cleared slightly, and she found herself surrounded by the walls of the medicine den. Silently, she wondered how long she had been here. Had it been days? Moons? Or had she merely been passed out for the night? There were questions that muddled through her brain, coming and going, some without her permission to do so. In the back of her mind, she felt as though she was missing something. There was something she was forgetting… wasn’t there?  She was sure Peachblossom could give her the answers when the time came, but still, the molly frowned, glancing around. She had to find someone. She knew that. Dreamfeather wasn’t sure who yet, but she would figure it out.

Blinking her eyes to clear some more of the blurriness, she tried to push herself to her feet, her sore muscles protesting with a shot of agony. Dreamfeather let out a light yelp, brows furrowing as she lowered herself back down to the ground, the tip of her tail flicking in worry and agitation.

only a day had passed since the fight with Riverclan, the molly could still see the pools of blood clear of day everytime she left her den or closed her eyes. The young molly didn’t sleep between mourning Antlercreek and trying her best to keep up with all the wounded warriors entering her den. it felt like The Great Floods all over again, constantly on her paws and working, it was times like this the molly wished she had another healer along side her but that would have to wait until Starclan showed her who the next healer would be. Her paws ached, her mind still clouded with grief but the job of a medicine cat was never done.

Peachblossom was pulled out of her downward spiral when the yelp of her patient rang through her paper thin ears, head snapping back to see who it came from. “Dreamfeather” breathing a sigh of relief, Peachbloissom was worried about her the most, taking quite the fall from a tree isn’t something to be taken lightly. Cautiously approaching the molly, giving her time to adjust to the sudden change in lighting and scene, “Hello..” she mewed softly, not wanting to startle Dreamfeather. Head injuries can be very damaging and needed to be addressed properly, “Do you know who you are?” trying to diagnose just how bad the injury was with simple questioning.

Dreamfeather’s eyes wavered for a moment before fixing on the healer, a slight smile crossing her lips. “Yes, of course,” she said softly, head tilting to one side slightly as she gazed on at Peachblossom. Dreamfeather, just like you said. I… I have to say that it’s good to see you, Peachblossom.” Her smile softened, but she blinked her eyes again, squeezing them tightly and then opening them back up. Blur still crowded at the edges of her vision. I’ll wait it out. Dreamfeather decided, flicking an ear dismissively to herself.

Have I been out for long?” She asked, emerald eyes shifting to look around the medicine den. The orange tabby fell silent as she waited, trying to figure out what the itch was at the back of her mind, like prey that she couldn’t quite catch. There was something, but it was just out of reach. It would come to her, with time. Of course it would.
