    Firestar ~Skyclan Leader

A dull ache coursed through his head as he makes his way towards the medicine cat den. His dark orange/red gaze locking into his destination as he pads through the clearing with purpose. Today was the day he would be teaching a certain Siamese she-cat how to properly hunt. A small grimace forming on his features as he dreads the outcome. Of course; he knew that she wouldn’t be perfect on her first try, he was more worried on having to listen to her complain about every little thing.

Huffing as he slips into the familiar den, the scent of herbs clung heavily in the air as he pads carefully around stacks of herbs and felines resting. Nodding respectfully towards Saffrongaze before catching movement in the corner of his eye. Humming softly to himself as he spots Milky tossing and turning in her nest. Pursing his lips for a moment as he regards her, wondering if he should leave her alone to rest or wake her. Rolling his eyes in exasperation at himself for even thinking about letting her sleep in.

With his ever so charming grin on his lips as lightly nudges her awake. Waiting patiently for her to open her eyes. Once she does and looks at him, he decides to speak up. “Rise and shine sweetheart. Saffrongaze says it’s time for you to stretch out that leg of yours and I know just the thing” Firestar meows, a smirk threatening to take over his sharp features.

No please don’t go! She called, though so audible words left the mollys rubbery lips. Tiny paws chasing after her owners as they walked away, ignoring the desperate mews of their beloved cat. House cats sitting on fences, laughing at Milky, “Why would any twoleg want a broken cat.” The images of other felines speaking in unison, pointing at her hind leg. The creamy she cats dream causing her to toss about her mossy nest, distressed noises escaping her.

The sudden jolt of newfound pressure being nudged into her pulling her from her nightmare, trying to steady her jagged breaths.Allowing her eyes to adjust to the real world, a loud sigh forcing its way through as she realized just who woke her from her slumber. Admittedly his wasn’t the worst face to wake up to, quite the contrary his grin could easily charm the molly, until he open his muzzle that is. Her soft blue eyes rolling at his words, “And I assume you’re the only one who can handle such a daring responsibly, Darling.”

Planting her good hind paw firmly on the ground before rocking herself forward, using the momentum to stand up, still not use to being able to walk on her hind leg. Leaning against his muscular frame to steady herself, taking in a deep breath before stretching her injured leg behind her in a quick stretch before setting it softly on the ground. “Lead the way O’ Great Firebuttstar.” She snickered, shifting her weight so she supported herself on all four, still obviously favoring her injured leg.

He literally felt his left eye twitch in irritation at listening to Milky. The Siamese she-cat just knew how to push his buttons, whether that be due to what she says or how she says it. Looking away from the usually smug looking molly as he glances around the medicine den in boredom. Though he quickly glances back over at her when he hears her scuffling to her paws. He was tempted to retort with a wittingly reply, maybe even mockingly mention her obvious nightmare, but surprisingly he refrained from doing so.

Instead he impatiently waits for her to gain a stable footing. Huffing as he feels her use him as an anchor for a few minutes. Looking down at her, observing the way she stretches her hind leg, a simple exercise that Saffrongaze has suggested. For some reason he was growing accustomed to her touching him, something that surprised him greatly. Firestar wasn’t one to like having others touch him, whether that be for to comfort him or a simple gesture. The only time he can really remember touching another feline in order to comfort them had to be when Saffrongaze was having a panic attack due to a fox in their territory.

He was so deep in his thoughts about what had happened moons ago that he barely realized that she had moved away from him. It wasn’t until he felt his side turn cold that he noticed and looked back down at her. His gaze unreadable as he looks at her, but quickly he scoffs at the horrid nickname. “You are lucky you need to train. Otherwise I might have been tempted to knock you over” Firestar smugly stats before deciding they had stayed in the medicine den long enough. Moving at a slower pace as he guides Milky out, but of course not before he childishly flicks his fluffed tail in her face. A little small payback for that ridiculous nickname.

The molly didn’t bother asking him if he could help her up or for permission to use him to help steady herself, it was the least he could do seeing as it was his idea to train her. Silently enjoying the sight of their mixing pelt colors before moving slowly away from him. She hadn’t left the medicine cats den much, she preferred staying were others couldn’t see her hideous limp, while in reality it wasn’t even that noticeable, she just had a flare for dramatics.

The molly lost in her own mind when the tail fluff of Firestar dangled in front of her muzzle, giving it a small nip, simply only pulling loosened fur from him. A low growl rumbling from her as she spat out his ginger fur, “stupid Firestar” she mumbled ever so quietly under her breath.

Taking note of his slower pace to allowing the molly to stay within a few feet of him, a thanks rolling around in her head, not that she’d say it aloud of course. “So what are we going to do exactly?” She asked the tom trying to ignore the felines eyeing them as the moved away from the camp and out the entrance. “Are you going to teach me how to fight? Ooo maybe finally show me around the territory so I can find my way home.” Bombarding him with questions once they cleared the camp.

Jumping ever so slightly as he feels her nip at his tail, turning his broad form to glare down at the siamese molly. Grounding his teeth together in order to keep his cruel words to himself. Huffing in irritation as he stalks away, yet still made sure she could keep up with his long strides. Of course, if she mentioned why he was being kind enough to keep pace with her, he already had a quick reply ready. ‘Only doing so because of what Saffrongaze said’. It was true in a way, but he didn’t want to admit that he wasn’t as mean as he often made himself out to be. Slipping easily out of the medicine den, nostrils flaring as he takes a deep breath of fresh air, the smell of herbs no longer clinging to the air. Slipping through the clearing, making sure his pelt didn’t brush against others around him as he leads Milky towards the entrance into the birch forest.

Groaning as her excited rambling began, his ears twitching with his sensitive hearing as she continues to sprout ideas of what they were doing today. “Hmm” he hums in thought as she mentions learning her way around Skyclan. “We can do that after we finish what I have planned today” he reasons with a smirk in her direction. Saffrongaze has cautioned him to make sure Milky takes it slow. That she shouldn’t exert too much energy in hunting. Fire has begrudgingly agreed, though he at least wanted to teach the kittypet the basics and maybe see her at least try to catch a critter. “I want to teach you how to hunt” he finally reveals as he leads her further and further through the ashen white forest. “Have you ever caught anything before?” He suddenly asks, wondering if she had ever caught a mouse as kits usually start out doing.

His ember eyes lingering on the branches glistening in the morning light. The snow reflecting brightly within the quiet forest. Relaxing slightly as he enjoys the peaceful stroll before knowing he would have to disrupt the silence around them to teach her. “First I want to teach you how to properly get into a Hunter’s crouch” he states, his voice held authority as he explains to her what they were doing today. “For an example” he offhandedly says before swiftly lowering his large frame into a perfect crouch. His shoulder blades popping out slightly due to his hunched form, sandstone belly fur brushing lightly against the snow. His long fluffed tail barely touching the floor as he hold his position for several moments. Once he deemed that she had enough time to observe did he rise to his full intimidating height once more. “Now show me” he instructs as he watches her every movement carefully.

Humming slowly behind Firestar as they emerged into the whited forest, holding back her gasp that threaten to escape, it was even more amazing than she remembered. Stopping a few steps behind Firestar, cranium dropping, nose digging into the snow, taking in its cold, wet texture. Milky didn’t see snow at her old nest and she didn’t get much of a chance to enjoy it last time she was out and about due to a certain log and tom cat. A light hearted giggle filling the air, shaking the snow from her pale pink nose. Noticing the tom cat was now further away from her than she was comfortable with, Milky decided to test a soft limit of her leg by herself, starting up a small trot back to his side. Allowing him to guide her further into the tree filled territory in peace, taking in the moment to enjoy the sights herself.

His voice pulling her out of thought, “Why dont you say that question out loud again, do you seriously think I’ve ever hunted?” Racing a kitty-brow at the tom, finding his questions entertaining. Milky never once had to hunt, let alone wait for her food whenever she was hungry, the two legs who claimed her making sure the molly never had to struggle for anything. “No I haven’t caught anything before.” Finally answering his question, she did promise Saffrongaze shed try and get along better with Firestar.

The two coming to a halt as Firestar wanted to show her how to assume a ‘proper’ hunting crouch, finding him a bit ridiculous, the Siamese molly stifled a giggle at the ginger beast. Though she thought this activity looked a bit silly she stilled made sure to watch him closely, wanting to show him she could do anything he could. Giving a quick hmpf as she walked past him, flicking his face with her tail, giving him a taste of his own kit-like behavior he showed earlier. Her body lowering down to the cold ground, the crouch wobbly and off balanced true to her favoring her hind leg, her creamy body pressed much to closely to the ground, tail moving behind her as she tried to keep her balance. In her mind Milky was doing just as Firestar was, possibly even better. Take that Firebuttstar.

Blinking in surprise as he hears her soft enchanting laugh as she enjoys the snow around her. Risking a glance back over at her, arching a brow at her innocent kit-like behavior as she digs her nose into the snow. Rolling his ember eyes at the sight, looking away though he wouldn’t admit it out loud but he found her laugh endearing. Hearing the snow behind him crunching under her unbalanced weight informed him that she had finally noticed the distance he had covered. Firestar wasn’t sure as to why he was the one teaching her the ways of the clan life. It wasn’t like she was going to be staying there much longer anyways. Yet; Saffrongaze had mentioned it would be good for Milky to learn how to protect, hunt, and find her way around the wilds. For future reference of course.

Sadly; he couldn’t find a rebuttal for her statement. It was true that it would be the best for them all if Milky learned how to do something. Starclan forbid if he had to help her from getting that big head of hers stuck in a log one more time. Sighing as she reveals that she was more useless than he thought. It shouldn’t have surprised him that she hadn’t even caught a mouse before; the pedigree complains enough as it is about getting her paws dirty. Running his tongue over his teeth as he regards her for a moment. “Well that’s alright. We are just starting with the basics anyways” he finally says. Awkwardly looking away from her, hating how he had actually tried to be decent when being an ass just comes so naturally to him. Firestar was slowly starting to learn that if he wants her to corporate with him he needed to keep his sharp tongue in check.

Also; he was tired of getting migraines after every time she raises her voice at him, it was getting annoying. It took a few moments for Milky to finally move to follow his instructions. A sharp intake of breath could be heard as her fluffed tail smacks him in the face. Grunting only surprise as well as wrinkling his nose. ‘Great…now it feels like her fur is on my nose’ he inwardly moaned in irritation. Suppressing a sneeze as he turns his attention back to her, a laugh getting stuck in his throat at her wobbly form. Ember hues glowing in amusement, trying his best to hide it as he knew that she would take it as mockery. Scanning her form, observing the cause of her unsteady crouch. Clicking his tongue as he knew that she was still hesitant to put weight on her bad leg.

Moving behind her, pressing his large paw against her leg. Forcefully yet gently moving her legs into a wider stance. Leaning forwards as he speaks to her, “If you don’t want the wind to knock you over; you need to have a firmer stance.” His tone was calm and quiet; as if he didn’t want to disturb the peaceful silence around them. His warm breath caressing her ear as he gives her instructions. “Don’t be afraid to put more weight on your leg. You need to build up muscle and get use to using it again. The more you push it back the more damage could be done” he reminds her. Today’s little lesson was about her getting more comfortable with her body and being able to move more sufficiently even with her little limp. “Try again” he suggests, nodding at her to try once more, but hopefully listening to his instructions.

An audible gasp escaped her jawls when his foot connected with hers, gently pulling into the the floor. Wincing slightly at the feeling of her weakness limb touching the cold floor, her whiskers twitching at his words firmer stance, repeating his words in her mind.

A shiver running down her spine as his warm breath meets her ears, the feeling of his warmth against the cold chill in the air making a purr threaten to erupt, pushing it down with a gulp. “Ok-okay” struggling to get her word out, trying to suppress the heat raising in her. Dropping onto her belly once more, a soft giggle escaping as the cold ground brushed against her belly once more, this time she planted her hind leg down into the crunching snow, lifting her body off the ground. Her tail steady behind her, ears pinned to her cranium, a smug smirk creeping its way onto her dusty muzzle as she tosses a glance at Firestar. Nose twisting at him, “Told ya perfection.” She mewed, giving him a few moments to study her frame. I can’t wait to show my two legs what I learned! Hums filling the air, her eyes locked onto Firestar, but she wasn’t looking at him, her gaze was fixated behind the large frame of the ginger feline towards what she assumed could be the direction of her nest. A more gentle facial expression replacing her smug look, “I’ll be home soon…” whispering quietly to herself.

    Firestar ~Skyclan Leader

Nodding in approval as she obediently follows his instructions, though he remains oblivious to how uncomfortable he had made her with his close proximity. Slowly stepping away, his golden ember eyes glowing in the sunlight as he eyes her carefully. An soft grin subconsciously forms on his lips as he listens to her gloat at her near perfect stance. Rolling his eyes playfully as he turns away from Milky. “Almost perfection” he teases before turning away from the she-cat. “Now that you know how to crouch in a hunting position…time to see if you have what it takes to use your senses” Firestar suddenly returns to his naturally firm personality.

Shifting his broad form, his large ginger tuft paws swiping away the few inches of snow to feel the frozen ground more easily. Toes twitching, letting the faint vibrates reach the pads of his feet. Closing his eyes, ears perking up as he intently listens to the sounds around him. To the chirping of birds singing lovely lullabies to rustling in the snow from rabbits scurrying into their burrows. His left ear flicking backwards as he barely catches her muttering with wanting; wanting to be home. Opening his eyes as he looks over at her, stilling as it seemed at first that she was staring at him.

Opening his mouth to question what she was looking at before realizing she was looking behind him. There was nothing really behind him except for a log, arching a brow before realization dawned on him that it was the same rotting log he had first found Milky dangling from. A snort escapes him at the memory before clearing his throat to catch her attention. “I want you to close your eyes and listen and feel around you. Concentrate and tell me what you sense” he instructs.

A soft purr threatened to fill the air hearing praise come from the deep tones of Firestar, swallowing the lump in her throat to shove down the purr. His words reached her ears yet she only caught every other word coming from him, her sole focus on the ever darkening forest behind them. Piecing together the few words she gathered to conclude he was ready to move on to the next part of their training session. That’s right Milky you’re here to learn not wallow pull yourself together.

Satified with her pep talk her blue eyes refocused onto their rather intimidatingly large frame of the Skyclan leader. At first glance he looked as nothing more than a giant brightly colored fluff ball but at times like now when his focus was else where she was finally able to get a good look at him. Under his generous pelt was nothing but pure muscle, more than she had ever seen on another cat. Chalking it up to him having to fight all this life rather than be hand fed like the fatty toms of the two-legs. Taking away his annoyingly rude tone and words, seeing his piercing eyes closed as he took in the whispers of nature, he was actually kind of handsome…but shed never tell him that. It’d probably make his head grow ten times the size it was now.

The sound of his throat clearing gently snapping her attention back onto him, “Yes Sir.” She mewed, a small hint of sarcasm lacing her voice. Light fog surrounding her dusty muzzle as she exhaled her eyes shutting gently. Milky felt a sensation like she never had before, it was often that she stopped to just listen to the world around her but now she was starting to think she should, it was such a pretty silence. At the same time it was silent at all, wind rustling bare branches, tiny paws scurrying across the crunchy snow, even the cool calm breathes of Firestar. Blinking her eyes open Milky turned to face the ginger tom cat, “I never thought I’d be able to do that.” She mewed to him quietly, scared to raise her voice more than a whisper, scared she wouldn’t be able to hear the sounds of the forest again. “Its faint but i can hear tiny paw steps against the snow, they’re rushed and tiny between beats something tiny I assume.” Raising a kittybrow looking for reassurance.
